To solve the problems of limited free space and increase its functionality in a small apartment, many owners make a folding table with their own hands. By installing it in the kitchen, you can free up space by using it as a dining table.

This is an interior item in the form of a board attached to the wall. Placed in a small room, it serves as a table. It can be an excellent assistant if used correctly.

Reclining table and bench

The folding table is distinguished by its functionality and ergonomics, and fits harmoniously into the space of any room. It can significantly save working space.

Advantages and disadvantages of the product

The design has a number of advantages:

  • Compactness
  • Functionality
  • Stylish design
  • Easy to install

One of the disadvantages of folding tables is their small size. If you make it larger, the result will be a heavy and bulky structure. The operation of such a table will be more difficult. It will be difficult to fold.

Table details

To build a folding table, you need to prepare the following parts:

  • table top
  • bottom and top of the shelf
  • sides and partitions
  • back

As accessories, it is necessary to prepare screws, hinges, confirmants and anchors.

During the work you can use the following tools:

  • electric jigsaw (hacksaw or regular jigsaw)
  • manual milling machine
  • grinder
  • screwdriver
  • drill and set of drill bits

They also use a ruler, tape measure, pencil, level and square.

Having prepared the parts and the necessary tools, you can begin to work.

Preparation of the drawing

When building a folding table with a wall mount with your own hands, drawings of the parts and the product itself are done first.

Most apartments do not have a separate room for meals. Therefore, the dining area has to be arranged in the kitchen, despite the lack of space. It is impossible to imagine a dining area without a table. Therefore, we are sharing a fresh selection of dining tables that will fit perfectly into the interior of a small kitchen and will help to rationally use its space.

1. Folding table for the whole family

There is an opinion that a wall-mounted folding table is only suitable for one or two people. But this is not true at all. A folding table can be large, designed for the whole family. But in this case, it is worth taking care of the reliability of the structure by making the supporting elements more powerful.

2. Breakfast overlooking the street

The bar table is attached to the wall parallel to the floor surface. This option is ideal for panoramic glazing of the kitchen. But such a counter-table can be placed just above the window sill, placing bar stools next to it.

3. Functional double tabletop

An additional tabletop located above the main one allows you to create an additional work or dining area. In this case, not a single additional meter of space will be wasted. The main thing is to choose the right double countertop design so that the design looks modern.

4. Compact kitchen island instead of a table

There is an opinion that a kitchen island is only suitable in large spaces. But the miniature frame fits perfectly into the interior of a small kitchen. Its functionality is beyond doubt, because it serves not only as a table or work surface, but also as a storage system.

5. Long narrow table against the wall

A rectangular hanging table looks much more interesting than a regular square one. Several people can eat at it at the same time. To ensure that the space of a narrow kitchen is not visually reduced, choose a table that matches the color of the walls.

6. Extendable mobile table

A table that can be pulled out from the main furniture if necessary - what could be more convenient? After all, it does not take up space in the kitchen. To further save space, the dining area can be supplemented with folding chairs.

7. Side table - continuation of the table top

An elongated tabletop, extending 30-50 cm beyond the furniture, can play the role of a small table. Its advantage is its 100% compatibility with the kitchen interior.

8. Window sill, smoothly turning into a table

If the idea of setting up a table instead of a window sill seems inappropriate, then try a similar option. The kitchen countertop smoothly transitions to the window sill, continuing into the corner kitchen table.

9. Instead of a soft corner

Kitchen furniture includes an element in the form of seating. For comfort, soft decorative pillows are placed on it. The table in this dining area is retractable.

10. Serving table instead of dining table

A serving table can successfully replace a dining table in the interior of a small kitchen. The main advantage of such a table is mobility. If necessary, it can be removed from the kitchen.

11. Spacious table

Extra storage will never be unnecessary in the kitchen. Therefore, it is worth taking a closer look at the possibility of making it in a miniature kitchen table. Another advantage of such a table is its folding tabletop, the area of which can be increased if necessary.

12. Comfortable semicircular table

A regular round table for a small kitchen is not the best choice. A more suitable solution would be a semicircular table placed close to the wall. It is more comfortable to sit at, and in terms of usable tabletop area it is not inferior to a similar round model.

13. Compact console table

This table, which looks like a decorative console, has three size options. When folded, it is suitable for snacks or meals for one person. Its tabletop consists of two parts located on the sides of a narrow central element. If necessary, you can expand one or two parts, thereby adjusting the size of the table.

14. Almost a bar counter

This table is similar to a bar counter, but at the same time it looks more original. Several people can eat at it at the same time. At the end of the meal, the chairs are pushed into the table, which also contributes to the rational use of the space in the small kitchen.

15. Folding table attached to furniture

Table with sofas by the window.

A dining area, stylized as cafe furniture, can transform the interior of a small kitchen. In addition, it takes up little space, but can become a eating place for the whole family.

18. Miniature shelf table

A small table is suitable for one or two people. Fixed to the wall with several fasteners, it will take up minimal space.

Is the problem of shortage of square meters more than urgent? Then we recommend that you read

What is a folding table? This is a surface that can be either vertical or horizontal.
A table, even a small one, takes up a decent amount of space in the room, and the desire to organize space pushes one to use an empty wall surface. If we consider it as a tabletop on supports: how little space will it take up vertically, provided the legs are folded along it? Of course, this idea is not very new and the art of transforming the table was used not only by our grandfathers, but by our great- and great-great-grandfathers. And over the centuries, the design has undergone both structural and stylistic changes. Today we can see a wide selection of folding transforming tables for any purpose and room.

Transformable folding tables for the kitchen

If in the last century the main direction of folding tables were secretaries and coffee tables, now these are mainly dining surfaces. A modern family of average income can only dream of a large kitchen, 20 or more square meters, but in practice they have to be sophisticated: put as much as possible in the kitchen, while taking up as little space as possible. IN . meters, folding tables began to appear more and more often.

Wall-mounted folding tables can be assembled as a narrow shelf, or they can completely merge with the wall. Their unfolded size is also very different: from a tea table for 1-2 people to a full-size table for 6-10 people. No conditions are required for the location of folding surfaces other than for reasons of convenience. In this vein, the flight of fancy is not limited:

A folding kitchen table can be placed directly on the heating radiator. In addition to masking the battery, it will regulate the temperature in the kitchen. But you need to remember that the radiator cannot be completely closed, otherwise it will heat the countertop and poorly heat the room. To prevent this from happening, you need to provide ventilation ducts in the top shelf and on the sides.

Such a transforming table can become a mobile extension of the cutting room: along the windowsill, an additional surface at the sink, a table for cooling pies or a bar counter. It all depends on your needs.

And if you have an extended doorway into the kitchen, then even the corner can have a folding tea table.

Dining table-book

A very popular option in the Soviet Union was a book-table with two folding surfaces. In normal times, such a transformer stood closer to the wall or in a corner and served as a surface for wiping dust, but on all holidays it was an indispensable nail, or rather a table. Modern designers have finalized the idea (which was just asking for it) by adding a book-table to the kitchen (with an appropriate design) and replacing the place of the shelves with a niche for folding chairs, thereby turning it into a transformable table with chairs. You can adjust its size by raising one or two “wings”.

A very interesting solution for the kitchen is our next sample. Transformable dining table three in one. The trick of this table is that there are not one, but two tables hiding on the wall! First, we fold down the small table, and if a larger area is needed, we fold out the second one, which folds over the small one. When folded, this structure on the wall is 3-4 cm thick. This mechanism is also used for a table-picture.

The wall-mounted folding table with a stationary tea table with legs has the same functionality.

As we have already seen, the table can recline both up and down. What if you make it all the way to the ceiling? If so, then we will get a huge table for large celebrations with minimal waste of free space on ordinary days. Uninitiated guests will not even guess that such a giant lives in your room or kitchen. This will probably be especially true for a studio apartment, where the room is combined with a kitchen.

Folding tables for residential premises

Not only the kitchen, but also the living rooms take part in the struggle for space. In addition, the massive distribution of computers for the home has led to the need to provide workspaces for almost all family members. And the developing trend of hobbies: handicrafts, modeling, etc. also require an equipped space and, in most cases, with the participation of a table. In these conditions, transformable furniture is indispensable.

Wall cabinet with hinged door-table top

This is far from a new idea, but, nevertheless, even more relevant than before. Of course, you can’t put a huge monitor and speakers on such a table, but it’s quite suitable for a laptop. In this case, a minimum area will be required for a home workplace.
And if you use your imagination, this small workspace can be marked out both in the hallway and in the kitchen.

Rack with folding table

This option is more massive, but more functional. The open shelves of such a table are always accessible, and the presence of space for two folding chairs increases the compactness of the structure. In addition, the folding table folds out into a kind of bar counter and there is an approach to the tabletop from three sides, which makes it possible to seat not one, but two people at it for working on a laptop or for communication.

Secretaire

This is a chest of drawers combined with a vertical cabinet with a hinged door. A very old and practical invention that fits discreetly into the bedroom interior. Of course, this is closer to the ladies’ version, but nowadays a woman also needs to have “her own place.”

Folding table based on the accordion principle

This is still the same mechanism on which it is based, only it looks more modest, without posters and mirrors, but with an ordinary facade, behind which a functional cabinet is hidden.

Folding table in the closet

Here we are talking about a full-fledged room, wardrobe or pantry cabinet. Most often, the table in it is narrow and long and is used for ironing clothes, sewing or cutting and sorting things and products.

Wardrobe-bed with folding table

This design is already a multifunctional complex with day and night division of functions.
By the way, the wardrobe-bed itself is based on the folding principle; it is even called a folding bed. And a transforming table, which takes up virtually no space, is a logical solution for such a design. Now, no matter how small the living space is, it can be comfortable to live in.

Folding tables for any room

In conclusion, I want to say that a folding surface - an additional table or shelf - will be appropriate in any room and for any purpose, be it a children's room, a bathroom or even a toilet. With it, you can arrange a comfort and relaxation zone everywhere; it can be a backup work surface and a seasonal helper (for example, for seedlings). It solves issues of landscaping even very small rooms, such as a balcony, storage room, etc.

A retractable transformable table is a solution to the problem of lack of space in the kitchen. This design is often found in studio apartments, where the kitchen space is combined with the living room and all items are in plain sight. A table with a retractable mechanism saves space. Thanks to this decision, you can make room for something more important.

The extendable table performs two functions:

  1. Tea and coffee table. This option can also be used in a large kitchen, when the main table is located far from the work area and there is no time to serve it. In this case, a retractable mini table will help out, on which 1-2 people can quickly have a snack.
  2. Additional table top. It is very convenient to cut bread, put a book with recipes, or install a food processor. This is a very convenient option, especially if there are two people in the kitchen at the same time and there is a shortage of working space.

Cons:

  1. the need to remove it when there is no need for it.
  2. stationary - it cannot be moved to another place.
  3. miniature: it will not replace the main table for a family or a large number of guests.
  4. high-quality fittings are expensive. Often, the presence of hidden additional systems significantly increases the final cost of a furniture set.
  5. the need for additional installation. Often it is no longer possible to build in any additional elements into existing furniture, and you should take care of their necessity in advance when ordering a kitchen project.
  6. Care. To prevent the system from malfunctioning, it is necessary to tighten the bolts and nuts in a timely manner. And this requires additional skills and proficiency in certain types of tools.

Advantages of a retractable table:

  1. the absence of a clutter of furniture visually enlarges the kitchen.
  2. availability of additional work area;
  3. instant appearance of the serving table;
  4. sustainability. If the kitchen floor is uneven, the main table may not stand firmly and wobble when touched. The extendable table is rigidly fixed on one side.
  5. lack of clutter in the kitchen.

The tabletop extends from the drawer of the lower cabinet just below the level of the kitchen countertop. However, there are models that can be flush with the main working surface.

Manufacturing Features

The mobile table can be made from various materials: artificial stone, MDF, chipboard, solid wood, plastic and even glass. There are models in the manufacture of which several types of finishing materials are used - these are the so-called mixed designs.

In order for such a table to be truly reliable and please you for a long time, it is better not to skimp on accessories and choose a mechanism from a trusted manufacturer. For example, you can equip a mobile surface with a special closer with a smooth, silent move, which will clean the table with a light touch. If desired, the retractable structure can be equipped with folding legs, which will be stored together with the table in a specially equipped niche.

Accommodation options

  1. Horizontal. This is the most common type of retractable tabletop model. As a rule, they are mounted inside the lower cabinet like a regular shelf. This can be a drawer with the same built-in sliding surface. An example of such a composition could be a nesting doll box, when one module rolls out from under another.
  2. Vertical. This is a less common option. The thing is that in ordinary standard headsets there is not enough space for them and their design requires additional space. An example of such a model is the book table known to many from childhood. The advantage of such systems is that they can fit where nothing else is in the way. Inside there can be a narrow basket with space for storing kitchen accessories, and folding tabletops are attached to the sides, which fold and unfold if necessary.
  3. Angular. These are “carousel” type models and pull out from the corner cabinet along with the drawer. The place for their installation can be the junction of two kitchen walls. It saves a lot of kitchen space by filling a difficult corner.
  4. Original. As a rule, these are self-sufficient models and do not carry any semantic load other than an additional countertop.

Types of retractable tabletops:

  • A tabletop with pull-out stools that, when folded, are hidden inside the fronts of the kitchen unit. To unfold, just pull the handle and pull out the tabletop along with the soft seats. This design is reminiscent of the reclining seats in train cars. Using this principle, you can make a children's table. This is a very original and practical solution. A small child needs a lot of space to move around and often having a lot of objects on the floor can be dangerous. The stationary table can be tilted, but the retractable version is safer.
  • Tabletop with legs. One of its edges is attached using a rotating mechanism directly under the main working area, and legs with wheels are attached to the second.
  • Folding table. The peculiarity of this design is that it has more complex fittings and is somewhat larger in size than the previous version. When closed, the main part of the pull-out table top slides down along the cabinet wall.
  • Continuation of the bar counter. This design is mainly made to order. It requires additional free space on the side of the lower cabinet, and the additional module is pulled out from the end side.

The possibilities for using such a design as a retractable table are very wide and depend, first of all, on its intended size and the quality of the fittings used. The smaller the width of the additional surface, the less load it will withstand. So, for example, with a width of up to half a meter, the structure will support no more than 20 kg. For greater strength, an additional stop is required; it is necessary to equip the models with more advanced guides and stable stops. Then the products can withstand a load of 30 kg or more.

Accessories

  1. Roller guides. One element is attached to the furniture wall, and the second - directly to the pull-out element. This version of the mechanism is the simplest, but not the most reliable. Rollers made of cheap plastic can make sounds when moving, which is not very pleasant. In addition, they can withstand a load of no more than 25 kg. However, if you are not going to place something heavier than a pair of tea on such a table, then this option is quite acceptable.
  2. Ball guides. This is a more advanced version of fittings with a telescopic opening type due to its integrity. When extended, the structure lengthens, and when closed, it shortens. It operates less noisily and can withstand more weight compared to rollers.
  3. Metabox. The side elements in such models are made of metal, and the design itself has a three-dimensional adjustment mechanism. Withstands up to 30 kg of load and has a silent, smooth ride. It is possible to adjust the length of the surface extension. The cost of such fittings is not much higher than ball fittings.
  4. Cargo. The moving elements are located directly on the sliding panel. They are very reliable and easy to install, because... form a single whole with the surface. However, the cost of this design significantly exceeds all previous ones.

In small apartments and small offices, every square centimeter counts. That is why you need to use the most compact and functional furniture there. One of these pieces of furniture can be called folding steel. It takes up very little space and can be completely invisible.

Folding tables are used both in the kitchen and in other rooms.

It is important to select and install it correctly.

Peculiarities

A wall-mounted folding table is an excellent solution for a small room. When assembled, such furniture is a thin plank that is located near the wall, almost merging with it. When unfolded, this model can replace a full-fledged kitchen table or even an element of the living room interior. When unfolded, it can become a large tabletop, which can accommodate a family at dinner or all the guests.

The table is attached to the wall and usually has clamps in the form of triangular or U-shaped supports. The peculiarity of this piece of furniture is its small size. So, it can be placed even in the smallest room without cluttering it. In addition, you can choose absolutely any part of the wall to which it will be attached.

You don't have to take into account the shape of the countertop or its parameters when arranging the room. It is very ergonomic and will fit anywhere. Another feature is the functionality of this product. Even though it is quite compact, it performs all its functions and does a great job with it. The fashionable design of such products should also be noted. This piece of furniture can fit perfectly into the interior of any room and even diversify it. It will complement any room in style.

The peculiarity of this design is that it is quite easy to install. Most models in stores are presented in ready-assembled form; you don’t even have to assemble them from their component parts. Thus, you can only come home and install the finished table on the wall, attaching it with screws and hinges. You just need to adjust its location on the surface and check how it looks and functions.

The main convenience is that when installing it, you don’t even need additional tools. It will not take physical effort or much time. The folding table is a very functional model. It can be placed both in the kitchen and in the living room or office, if it is small.

Often a folding table is installed in a nursery. There are some unusual models that allow you to fix the tabletop in the desired position by changing its angle. This way you can make a full-fledged desk for your child. In addition, you can change its parameters, taking into account individual characteristics.

This way you can make the work process more comfortable by well organizing your workplace. This is a great solution for both children and adults.

Species

Now there are a large number of varieties of folding tables. All models differ depending on the type of their construction, purpose, design and additional capabilities.

Transformable table

This model is the most compact and multifunctional. This piece of furniture slides in and out very easily. It can be either a wall-mounted or a wall-mounted folding table. Most often, such models are used in the kitchen. This way you can pull out the table at the right time, turning the kitchen work area into a dining room. After you have dinner or breakfast with the whole family, you can fold it, creating a more compact version of the table, or completely assemble it, making it invisible among other kitchen interior items.

For the smallest kitchens, manufacturers have provided models without legs. They only have vertical mounting to the wall. Some products have only one leg for a more compact design. They are less reliable, so they should not be loaded.

A transforming table is also installed in a schoolchild’s nursery. It can also be adjusted according to the length of the table top: for classes it can be transformed into the longest version, and during games they fold very compactly down to the cabinet. If your child loves active games, then you can fold it completely and not worry that it will hit the corner of such a product. This way, the child will be able to play with the children without knocking over a single piece of furniture or getting injured.

Traditional folding table

This piece of furniture is a universal tabletop of special strength that can be mounted on any vertical surface. This could be a closet, a wall or another plane. A folding table is a universal piece of furniture that can bear more load. It is suitable for doing homework, placing a large number of books on it, and even for a full family dinner. The most reliable area on such a surface is the area where the fasteners and hinges are fixed.

If you install this product well, its quality characteristics will be comparable to a classic, reliable table. This is a very easy-to-use model that makes the room more spacious and does not overload it. As a rule, folding tables mounted to the wall have a regular rectangular shape or rounded edges.

The structures vary in length and width.

They can be selected depending on the parameters of the room and the availability of free space. You need to calculate how far you can recline such a table, and only then purchase this model. Externally, this product may look like a large shelf that is folded out when it is necessary to place some items on it.

But if you plan to greatly overload folding models, then it is better to purchase built-in products that have additional content - a storage system.

So, models with a mirror, drawers or shelves are very interesting. All these elements also fold together with the tabletop. As for products with legs, they are more stable and recline along with the tabletop. At the same time, models with chrome legs are often purchased because they look very elegant.

Wall table

Now manufacturers are introducing other special, very compact models for maximum space savings. So, it can be a hinged folding table without legs. This vertical element can resemble a window sill in design. A hanging table takes up minimal space and usually has small dimensions. You can also find unusual products with sidewalls.

Folding bar counter

This model is most often installed in the kitchen, dining room or studio apartments for zoning. This is an excellent solution for those whose premises are decorated in a modern style. It is a table with a folding structure that is mounted to the wall. Its feature is a rather long and narrow folding tabletop. So, about five people can fit along it.

Moreover, there are models that are attached to the wall on one side and mounted on the floor on the other side, and there are also more convenient mobile models. Such products have an unusual design and glass or mirror inserts. A glass folding bar table looks very elegant and luxurious and can make the design of any, even the smallest, kitchen more interesting and fashionable.

Most often, models in the form of bar counters are purchased if the kitchen resembles a corridor in size and shape. This is an excellent solution for apartments whose layout does not meet the standards.

As a rule, the design of the bar counter is located higher than a regular tabletop, so you need to purchase high bar stools to go with it.

Folding table

This table can also have a folding design. As a rule, such models are installed in very small kitchens or balconies. This model is somewhat reminiscent of transforming products, but at the same time it has an important difference. So, its design is quite simple. The table has no additional functions or capabilities.

Its main difference from all the described models is that part of the tabletop is folded back, while part remains in its original form. That is, it is impossible to completely fold and tilt the table to a vertical position close to the wall. It can be folded into a small cabinet. This is a very convenient and functional option that can be used for permanent storage of some kitchen items, such as dishes, pepper shaker, sugar bowl and others.

When eating, it can easily be shared among the whole family. If you want to dine alone, then you won’t have to fold it back at all.

Mobile folding table

This is a very interesting model, which also has compact dimensions. It differs from the previous ones in that it is mobile, the most compact and interesting in design. So, you can move the table throughout the room. The tabletop below has guides along which the tabletop and the entire table structure can literally move along one wall. The guides are almost invisible and ensure the mobility of this product.

The table moves horizontally along a rail from one corner of the room to the other. As a rule, these models have legs that act as supports when tilting the tabletop. They fold down and completely merge with the wall. Such models take up very little space and do not interfere at all. As a rule, they are selected to match the design of the kitchen unit and are most often used in the kitchen.

Design and mechanism

As a rule, a folding table is a wall-mounted model. These designs have a tabletop that is attached to hinges. The latter, in turn, will need to be attached to the wall. A folding table may have a leg - a support. When the tabletop is brought into a horizontal position, the support moves to the side and the tabletop rises up. This way, you place the leg against the central part of the tabletop and ensure its stability.

The design of such tables is different in that the legs are fixed separately and are not at all connected to the main structure.

Most often, this element is joined into a deep hole, which is located at the bottom of the tabletop so that, due to awkward movements, the tabletop does not fall at the wrong moment. This is a very comfortable model with a leg lock, which is considered one of the most stable.

There are also models in which the support is already pre-attached to the bottom of the tabletop and unfolds along with it. On one side, this design has a stop, and on the other side, it is mounted on hinges. When unfolding the support, such a mechanism has a special recess that is screwed onto the tabletop with self-tapping screws. As a rule, the support has wall fasteners, but there are also models that are initially attached to the base of the tabletop, and only then fixed on the wall. Folding legs are a very convenient part of this design.

Some models open according to the accordion principle. Thus, the entire structure folds completely in just one movement. This is a very convenient adjustable table that can be unfolded in seconds without any extra effort. Very interesting are models whose design includes a flat support.

Such folding tables often include in the design an element in the form of a triangular-shaped support, which is fixed to the wall, located below the main part of the structure - the tabletop. Thus, you will need to lift the cover and move the support to the side. The mechanism rotates and is fixed either with a magnet or with ball clasps. These are very interesting in design and reliable in construction models.

Due to the presence of such a complex mechanism, they are less compact. The more reliable the tabletop and its support are, the more this product will protrude beyond the plane of the wall. So, on average they extend by 5 cm, but there are more voluminous models.

Another good option is a table model with brackets. Brackets are most often made of iron, as well as stainless steel. The mechanism has a fairly simple design and can be presented in black or white. Models with chrome supports are popular. The structure itself may be more interesting in design, in contrast to its supports. The brackets are installed independently, without hinges.

This part of the mechanism is attached simultaneously to both the wall and the working surface of the table. When you lift the lid, this product automatically moves to 90° and locks in this position. When you want to fold such a table, you can activate the mechanism by lifting it up or pulling a special lever. This way the furniture will smoothly tilt back.

The principle of operation of such bracket legs is shown in the following video.

Another very interesting version of the folding table mechanism is a gas-filled shock absorber. This product is reminiscent in design of the folding mechanism from the rear doors of domestic cars. The tabletop is hinged along the wall, and underneath there is a cylinder filled with gas. This design is held in a vertical position using a strap or special clamps.

When you begin to unfold the table, gas from the cylinder presses on the piston and lifts the tabletop up. So, the table quickly unfolds. To do this, you do not need to use physical force, and the structure will completely decompose in just 3 seconds. This is a very compact and convenient model that takes up very little space. The thickness of such a table when folded along the wall is no more than 2 cm.

How to attach the tabletop?

In order to secure the tabletop with your own hands, you can use different methods. So, you can purchase a ready-made folding table kit, or you can assemble the tabletop yourself. First of all, before installation it is necessary to take all measurements. You need to measure the width, height and length of the future folding table. After this, you can provide a convenient shelf in the tabletop before installing the folding structure. So, it needs to be secured with cotter pins.

The second option is installation with screws. To do this, you need to drill several holes for the screws, and only then screw them into the right places. You can cover these structural elements with special putty or glue, and then sand the last layer. Then you need to move on to fastening the structure. The front bar is secured under the lowest fastening part of the future table.

The plank will delimit the tabletop when folding, and will also make the structure more rigid and reliable. It is best to secure it with long screws or cotter pins.. Some people choose the corner mounting method. The finished table legs and base for the hinge must be tightened with 3 cm screws.

After this, you need to install a folding system, the role of which will be played by the staples. They will provide the ability to fold not only the table top, but also the legs. The staples must be the most rigid and of the highest quality in composition.

It would be better if such a mechanism includes a latch that prevents the independent folding and tilting of such a structure. Next you need to install three hinges on a medium-sized tabletop.

Two brackets need to be installed a little closer than from the edges of the proposed structure, and the third - in the middle. After this, you can tighten the beam - fastening using three-centimeter screws. After completing all this work, you can move on to the fasteners. It is important to correctly mark the required location for installing the future table. You should also measure the height of the leg so that nothing interferes with the structure during its operation.

When installing, it is important to initially draw the correct horizontal lines on the wall. It is best to use a level for this so that the table is perfectly level. First you need to install the mount with a leg. Moreover, it is better to hang it a couple of centimeters above the drawn horizontal line on the wall. After this, you need to secure it with dowels or reliable screws to the wall. Thus, the installation will be completed. All you have to do is check how well the folding table functions.
