The importance of the verse "Al-Kursi"

It is reported that once, Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, guarding the collected zakat, caught a thief who said to him: “Let me go, and I will teach you such words that Allah will make useful for you!” Abu Hurairah asked, "What are these words?" He said: “When you go to bed, read “Ayat al-Kursi” from beginning to end, and a guardian from Allah will always be with you, and the shaitan will not be able to approach you until morning!” After that, Abu Hurairah told the Prophet about this, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: “He really told you the truth, despite the fact that he is a notorious liar!” After that, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, told Abu Hurairah that it was Satan himself in the form of a man (Al-Bukhari "Sahih" 2311).

Ubay ibn Ka'b said: “Once the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, asked me: “O Abul-Mundhir, do you know which verse from the Book of Allah is the greatest?” I said: This is the verse which says: Allah - there is no deity worthy of worship except Him, the Living, the Almighty ...” (ayat al-Kursi) After that, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, slapped me on the chest and said: “May you be happy in knowledge, O Abul-Munzir!” ”(Muslim“ Sahih ”810).

“Allah (God, Lord). There is no god but Him, the eternally Living, Existing. Neither sleep nor slumber will overtake him. He owns everything in heaven and on earth. Who will intercede before Him, except by His will!? He knows what was and what will be. No one is able to comprehend even a particle of His knowledge, except by His will. Heaven and Earth are embraced by the course (Great Throne) of Him, and He does not bother to take care of them [About everything that is in our galactic system]. He is the Most High [by all characteristics above everything and everything], the Great [His greatness has no limits]!” (See, Holy Quran, Surah al-Baqarah, ayat 255 (2:255)).

Ayat "Al-Kursi" is a special verse of the Holy Quran, which has not only a deep meaning, but also the power of mystical influence. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, this is the greatest of the Quranic verses, because it contains evidence of monotheism, as well as the greatness and infinity of the qualities of the Almighty Creator. In this verse, in words accessible to human understanding, the Lord speaks to people about Himself and His incomparability with any objects and essences of the world He created. This verse indeed has a glorious and delightful meaning and deserves to be called the greatest of the Qur'anic verses. And if a person reads it, reflecting on its meaning and comprehending its meaning, then his heart is filled with conviction, knowledge and faith, thanks to which he protects himself from the evil machinations of Satan.

"Throne" ("al-kursi") is one of the greatest creations of the Creator. The Messenger of Allah said: “The seven heavens (Earth and heavens) in comparison with the foot of the “Throne” are like a ring thrown in the desert, and the superiority of [the] “Throne” over its foot is like the superiority of this desert over this ringlet. » no one is able to imagine in a worthy way, except Allah Almighty 2 . The above words of the verse "Al-Kursi" should not be interpreted in a literal sense. Allah cannot be limited by any space, does not need any “al-kursi” (throne, chair) or “al-‘arsh” (throne).

Ayat "Al-Kursi" in its meaning and significance is equal to one quarter of the entire Holy Quran. Ali 3, the successor of the Prophet Muhammad, spoke about the strength of his action: “I cannot understand those Muslims who, before going to bed, do not read the ayat “Al-Kursi”. If you knew how great this verse is, you would never neglect to read it, because it was given to your Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) from the treasures of al-‘Arsh. Ayat "Al-Kursi" was not given to any of the prophets before Muhammad (God bless them). And I never spend a night without reciting the verse of Al-Kursi three times [before going to bed].”

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever reads the ayat “Al-Kursi” after the prayer-prayer, he will be under the protection of Allah Almighty until the next prayer” 4. “To the one who reads the verse “Al-Kursi” after the prayer-prayer, [if he dies] nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise” 5.

The name of the verse "Al-Kursi" is sometimes erroneously written as "Ayatul Kursi". The Qur'an consists of 114 parts called suras. Surahs are made up of verses. In Surah Baqqara, verse 255 is called Al-Kursi. Hence the name - ayat "Al-Kursi". Not all verses in the Qur'an have a title.

Several semantic translations are possible: “I swear by the time interval that begins after the sun has shifted from its zenith and continues until sunset”; "I swear by the afternoon prayer."

That is, the slanderers plunged into "al-khutoma" will lose all hope of liberation, the gates of Hell will be tightly closed before them.

The Qur'anic surah tells of a historical event that took place in the year of the birth of the last messenger of the Lord Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and became a sign for people who understand.

By this time, the ancient temple of Monotheism Kaaba (see: Holy Koran, 22:26, 29) restored by the prophet Abraham was again turned by the Arabs into the main temple of their pagan pantheon. Mecca became the center of paganism, attracting pilgrims from all over the Arab East. This caused discontent of the rulers of neighboring states. Then the ruler of Yemen Abraha, in order to attract pilgrims, built a new temple, striking in its luxury and beauty. But the religious building could not become a center of pilgrimage for nomads, who still recognized only Mecca as such.

Once, a certain Bedouin-pagan, demonstrating his disrespect for the Yemeni temple, desecrated it. Upon learning of this, Abraha vowed to wipe the Kaaba off the face of the earth.

In the army equipped by him there were eight (according to other sources - twelve) elephants, which were supposed to destroy the Kaaba.

Approaching Mecca, the army of Abraha set up a camp for rest. Camels grazing in the vicinity immediately became the prey of the Yemenis. Among them were two hundred camels belonging to one of the most respected people of Mecca, ‘Abdul-Muttalib (the grandfather of the future Prophet).

In the meantime, Abraha ordered that the most respected Meccan be brought to him. The inhabitants pointed to ‘Abdul-Muttalib, who went to negotiate with Abraha. The dignity and nobility of ‘Abdul-Muttalib immediately inspired the ruler of Yemen with respect for him, and he invited the Meccan to sit next to him. "Do you have any request for me?" Abraha asked. “Yes,” said ‘Abdul-Muttalib. “I want to ask you to return my camels, which were taken away by your soldiers.” Abraha was surprised: “Seeing your noble face and courage, I sat down next to you. But when I heard you, I realized that you are a cowardly and selfish person. While I came with the intention of razing your shrine from the face of the earth, are you asking for some camels?!” “But I am only the owner of my camels, and the Lord Himself is the owner of the temple, He will save it ...” was the answer. Taking his herd, ‘Abdul-Muttalib returned to the city, abandoned by the inhabitants, who were unable to resist the huge army. Together with the people accompanying him, ‘Abdul-Muttalib prayed for a long time at the threshold of the Kaaba, offering a prayer for the salvation and preservation of the Lord’s temple, after which they left Mecca.

When Abraha's troops tried to storm the city, a miraculous sign happened: a flock of birds appeared and threw stones from burnt clay at the army. Abraha's army was destroyed. Defenseless Mecca and Kaaba were saved, for according to the plan of the Lord, a different fate was destined for them.

This story is a clear sign for those who have understanding.

See, for example: Ibn Kasir I. Tafsir al-kur'an al-'azim. T. 4. S. 584, 585.

The Lord is Almighty: He manifests His punishment through seemingly weak and defenseless creatures. So, for the refusal of the pharaoh to release Moses and his people for worship, one of the "executions of Egypt" was the invasion of toads, midges, "dog flies", locusts that flooded all of Egypt. The "plagues of Egypt," according to the Bible, forced the pharaoh to release the people of Israel from captivity (Ex. 8:10).

About Ayat Al Kursi

Ayat Al Kursi (oyatal kursi) is the 255th verse of Surah Al Bakar (cow). (Some people believe that this verse is a sura) evidence of monotheism, as well as the greatness and infinity of the qualities of the Almighty. It contains "ismi ´azam", i.e. the greatest name of the Almighty.

Imam al-Bukhari in his collection of hadiths cites a hadith about his dignity: “Once, when Abu Hurairah (radiallahu anhu) was guarding the collected zakat, he caught a thief who said to him: “Let me go and I will teach you such words that Allah will make useful for you!” Abu Hurairah (radiallahu anhu) asked: “What are those words?” He said: “When you go to bed, read “ayat al-Kursi” from beginning to end, and a guardian from Allah will always be with you, and the shaitan will not be able to approach you until the morning!” After that, Abu Hurairah (radiallahu "ahnu) told the Prophet (sallallahu "alaihi wa sallam) about this, and he said: “He really told you the truth, despite the fact that he is a notorious liar!” After that, the Prophet (PBUH) told Abu Hurairah (Radiallahu “AHNU) that it was Satan himself in the form of a man.”

Another hadith says: "When Ayatul Kursi was sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu" alayhi wa sallam), the Angel Jibrail, surrounded by 70 thousand angels, transmitted this verse, saying that "He who sincerely reads it will receive a reward as for 70 years of service to the Almighty, and whoever reads Ayatul Kursi before leaving home will be surrounded by 1,000 angels who will pray for his forgiveness."

Reading the verse of Al-Kursi is equal to reading one fourth of the Qur'an, at least listen to it constantly.

Whoever reads it will be protected from thieves and the devil. Reading this verse before entering the house drives out the shaitan from there. If you read it and blow on food and drink, it will bring a blessing, and if on things and clothes, it will protect them from the devil and the thief. Reading Ayatul Kursi will be protected from the evil of genies from morning to evening and from evening to morning.

Whoever reads the text of Ayat al Kursi constantly after each obligatory prayer, then only death separates this person from Paradise. If you read ayat al-Kursi along with the last verse of sura Al-Baqara, then the dua (prayer to the Almighty) will not go unanswered. Download Ayat Al-Kursi from the site to read 33 or 99 times daily for safety and blessings. Read 3 times before bedtime, especially if you have nightmares. Praise be to Allah, the Supreme Lord, in whose hand is power over everything and to whom you will be returned!

Ayat al-Kursiy

Bismil-lyayahi rrahmaani rrahim.

Allahu laya ilyayahe ilyaya huwal-hayyul-kayyuum, laya ta - hu h uhu sinatuv-valaya navm, lyahumaafis-samaavaati wamaafil-ard, maine h al-la h ii yashfya‘u ‘indahu illaya bi and h them, ya‘lamu maa beine aidiihim wa maa halfahum wa laya yuhiituune bi sheyim-min ‘ilmihi illa bi maa shaa‘a, wasi‘a kursiyuhu ssamaavati val-ard, valyaya yauduhu hifzuhumaa wa huval-‘aliyul-‘aziim.

The Messenger of Allah said: “The seven heavens (Earth and heavens) in comparison with the foot of the Throne are like a ring thrown in the desert, and the superiority of [the] Throne itself over its foot is like the superiority of this desert over this ring.” “Throne” no one is able to imagine in a worthy way, except Allah Almighty.

Ali, the successor of the Prophet Muhammad, spoke about the strength of his action: “I cannot understand those Muslims who, before going to bed, do not read the ayat “Al-Kursi”.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever reads the ayat “Al-Kursi” after the prayer-prayer, he will be under the protection of Allah Almighty until the next prayer” “To the one who reads the verse “Al-Kursi” after the prayer -prayer, [if he dies] nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise.

Ayatul Kursi - the most valuable verse of the Holy Quran | Video

There is one verse in the Qur'an which is considered the master of all verses and the greatest verse of the Qur'an. From the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is transmitted along a reliable chain that he said:

« This verse (Ayatul Kursi) is the most worthy of the verses of the book of Allah, and it contains the Great Name of Allah ».

This verse, as we all know, is Ayatul Kursi- 255 verses of Surah Al-Baqarah. Probably, the vast majority of Muslims have heard about this verse. Indeed, this is the greatest and most valuable verse from the Holy Quran.

Advantages of Ayatul Kursi

All the advantages of Ayatul Kursi are simply impossible to bring in one article. Here is the verse:

Abu Bakr ibn Mardawaih narrates from Abu Umama (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

اسم الله الأعظم الذي إذ دعي به أجاب في ثلاث: سورة البقرة، وآل عمران، وطه

«” Ismullah al-Aazam ”- The greatest name of Allah, with which a prayer will be surely accepted, is contained in three suras: in“ al-Baqarah “, “Ali Imran ", And " Taha “».

Hisham ibn Ammar, Khatib of Damascus, said:

“- in Surah Al-Baqarah it is (2:255):

اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّومُ

- and in Surah Ali Imran it is (3:1-2):

الم – اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّومُ

- and in Surah Taha it is (20:111):

وَعَنَتِ الْوُجُوهُ لِلْحَىِّ الْقَيُّومِ».

When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked: Which verse sent down by Allah Almighty to you is the greatest? ". The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied: Ayatul Kursi ».

Numerous hadiths are also transmitted that talk about the virtues of Ayatul Kursi, here are some of them:

سيد الكلام: القرآن، وسيد القرآن:البقرة، وسيد البقرة: آية الكرسي

« The lord of the word is the Quran, the lord of the Quran is the surah Al-Baqara, and the lord of the surah Al-Baqara is Ayatul Kursi»;

من قرأ دبر كل صلاة مكتوبة آية الكرسي، لم يمنعه من دخول الجنة إلا أن يموت

« Whoever reads Ayatul Kursi after the obligatory prayers, nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise, he can only die ».

When is it advisable to read Ayatul Kursi

“I heard your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, standing on the minbar:“ Whoever reads Ayatul Kursi after the obligatory prayers, nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise, it remains only for him to die, and no one will constantly adhere to his reading, except for the righteous and the servant of Allah, and the one who reads Ayatul Kursi when he goes to bed, he will be under the protection of Allah, as well as his neighbor, the neighbor of his neighbor, and all the houses in the area will be under the protection of Allah ».

It is also narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

إِنَّ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ سَنَامًا وَإِنَّ سَنَامَ الْقُرْآنِ الْبَقَرَةُ وَفِيهَا آيَةٌ هِيَ سَيِّدَةُ آيِ الْقُرْآنِ آيَةُ الْكُرْسِيِّ

« Indeed, everything has a peak, and the sura “al-Baqara” is the peak of the Qur'an, and in this sura there is an ayat that is the master of all the verses of the Qur'an - Ayatul Kursi "(Tirmizi).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also said:

وَأَخْرَجَ أَحْمَدُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَنَسٍ: “آيَةُ الْكُرْسِيِّ رُبْعُ الْقُرْآنِ

« Ayatul Kursi is equal to a quarter of the entire Quran " (Imam Ahmad).

Yet many other hadiths testify to the greatness of Ayatul Kursi, but we will confine ourselves to those that have been cited. All praise be to Allah.

Based on the materials of the books “Al-Itkan fi ulum Al-Kuran”, Jalaluddin As-Suyuti and “Tafsir al-munir”, Az-Zuhayli.

Interpretation of Ayatul Kursi

In addition to all this, Ayatul Kursi has a very valuable semantic meaning that cannot be conveyed within the framework of one article. But here we will try to convey briefly the interpretation of this verse, which is given by the modern Mufassir scholar Muhammad Ali As-Sabuni in his book "Safvatat-tafasir", which translates as "selection of tafsirs" (interpretations).

That is, this book is selected mainly from the six most famous books on tafsir: Al-Tabari; Al-Kashshaf; Al-Kurtubi; Al Alusi; Ibn Kathir; Al-Bahr al-muhit.

Allah - there is no God besides Him, He is Living, Existing. That is, He is Allah the Most High, the One, the Only, Self-sufficient (needing nothing), Eternal and eternally Living and who will never die, governs the affairs of all creatures, taking care, protecting and arranging their affairs.

Neither drowsiness nor sleep takes Him. That is, He is not taken by drowsiness and sleep, as is given in the hadith narrated from Abu Musa Al-Ashari (may Allah be pleased with him):

إن الله عزوجل لاينام ولاينبغي له أن ينام. يخفض القسط ويرفعه

« Indeed, Allah Almighty does not sleep, and it is not fitting for Him to sleep. It lowers the reward for deeds and raises it. "(Muslim).

To Him belongs all that is in heaven and all that is on earth. That is, everything that is in heaven and on earth is His property, His slaves and is in His submission and under His authority.

Who can intercede for someone before Him without His permission? That is, not a single person can intercede for anyone unless Allah Almighty allows it.

Ibn Kathir writes: These words indicate the Majesty and Dignity of Allah Almighty, so that no one dared to intercede for anyone without the permission of the Lord».

He knows what will be ahead of them [the future] and what was behind them [the past]. That is, He knows what they (creatures, that is, everything that is in heaven and on earth) see and happen to them at the present time - this world, and what is behind them, that is, what awaits them, when they are in the next world. Indeed, his knowledge covers everything that exists and the entire universe (that is, Allah has a comprehensive knowledge about creations, about their past, present and future).

And they do not comprehend anything from His knowledge of Himself and from what He knows, except what He wills them to know. That is, creatures can comprehend only that knowledge of God, which Almighty Allah will teach them by sending Messengers to them.

Embraces His Al-Kursi heaven and earth. That is, His Kursi is more extensive than heaven and earth because of its spaciousness and vastness. If we take seven lands and seven heavens, then their size compared to Kursi will be similar to the size of a ring thrown in the desert. It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that he said about the words of the Almighty “Al-Kursiy embraces Him”, said: “[Al-Kursiy means] His knowledge, and another verse of the Holy Quran testifies to this (angels say) :

رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ رَحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا

« Our Lord, You embrace everything with Your mercy and knowledge!” (Sura "Ghafir", 7).

And in this verse (in Ayatul Kursi) Allah Almighty also said that His knowledge covers all things.

Al-Hasan Al-Basri said that Kursi- this is Arsh. But Ibn Kathir says: The correct opinion is that Kursi is not Arsh. Arsh is much larger than it, as indicated by hadith and asar».

And the protection of them [heavens and earth] does not burden Him; verily, He is the Most High, the Great! That is, it is not difficult for Him, He is not burdened by the protection of heaven, earth and everyone who is there. He is the Highest - above all his creatures, and the possessor of Majesty.

("Safvatat-tafasir"; Muhammad Ali As-Sabuni)

Ayatul Kursi has a deep Divine meaning, reflecting on the meaning and comprehending the meaning of which, a person can take a step forward in his spiritual perfection.

As we noted above, many hadiths testify to the merits and greatness of this verse, and there is no doubt that reading this verse in different life situations will bring great benefits to a person. It remains for us to learn the correct pronunciation of the verse and it will be possible to read it at every suitable moment.

"Al-Kursi":
"Bismillahi-r-rahmani r-rahim. Allahu la ilaha illa hu al-hayul-kayyum. Laa ta" huzuhu sinatyn wa laa naum Lahu maa fissamaauyaati wa maa fil ard. Man zallazi yashfau "indahu illa-a bi-iznih Ya" lamy maa bayna aydiyhim umaa halfakhum wala yyhiytuuna bishyai im min "ilmihii illaa bi maa shaaaaa. Wasi" i kursiyy hu-s-samaauaati wal ard walya uduhuu hifzuhuumyaa ".

Translation:
"Allah is the One besides Whom, there is no deity. He is Living, Eternally Existing, neither slumber nor sleep overcomes Him. Everything in Heaven belongs to Him, and everything on Earth, who intercedes before Him, without His permission "He knows what was before them and knows what will happen after them, they seize from His knowledge only what He wills. His Throne embraces Heaven and Earth, and His guarding them is not burdensome, truly. He is High, Great" .

« Ayatbuteh- Kursi” is the 255th verse of Surah Bakara of the Holy Quran. The hadeeth of the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) states:

“Like everything in the world has a core, a foundation, so the essence, the central place of the Bakara sura is the Ayat of the Heavenly Throne.

Hazrat Babafariduddin Janj (rahmatullah 'aleih) reported that “When Ayat al-Kursi was sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the Angel Jibrail ('aleihis-salaam), surrounded by 70 thousand angels, transmitted this verse, saying at the same time that “The one who sincerely reads it will receive a reward as for 70 years of service to the Almighty. And the one who reads Ayat al-Kursi before leaving the house will be surrounded by 1000 angels who will pray for his forgiveness.”

The person reading this verse is under the protection of the most majestic angels of the Almighty.

Reading Ayat al-Kursi will be protected from the evil of genies from morning to evening and from evening to morning.

Ayat al-Kursi is equal to a quarter of the Holy Quran.

Whoever reads Ayat al-Kursi constantly after each obligatory prayer, then only death separates this person from Paradise.

Whoever reads Ayat al-Kursi after the obligatory prayer will be protected until the next prayer.

And the reader himself, and his children, and his house, and his wealth, property, and even the houses of neighbors will be protected.

Whoever reads Ayat al-Kursi before going to bed will be protected by two angels until the morning.

Whoever reads Ayat al-Kursi before leaving the house, he will be under the protection of Allah until he returns.

Whoever reads Ayat al-Kursi and the beginning of Sura N 40 “Gaafir” in the morning will be safe until the evening, and if you read in the evening, then there will be safety until the morning.

Kutbubbin Bakhtiyar (rahmatullah ‘alayh - may Allah be merciful to him) reported, “Allah will relieve the house of the person who reads Ayat al-Kursi before leaving the house.”

When reading Ayat al-Kursi, the evil genies are expelled from the premises.

Who on Fridays, preferably in solitude, begins to read Ayat al-Kursi 70 times after the prayer of Al-Asr (the third in a row), he will begin to see the inner spiritual light, and every dua made at this moment will be accepted by Allah.

Before any test that a person has to experience, whether it is a meeting with negative people or another danger in the form of a natural element, etc. read Ayat al-Kursi.

The Great Caliph of Islam - "Ali (glad to Allah anhu) said:
“I cannot understand those Muslims who do not read Ayat al-Kursi before going to bed. If you only knew how great this verse is, you would never neglect reading Ayat al-Kursi, because it was given to the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu ‘aleihi wa sallam) from the treasuries of Al-Arsh. Ayat al-Kursi was not sent down to any of the Prophets before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). And I never go to bed without first reading Ayat al-Kursi.

Reading the Qur'an is a great way to overcome anxiety, forget about the hustle and bustle. There is a special verse in the Holy Book, about which the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) spoke. He noted that these lines of the Qur'an give the most rewards in both worlds to those who recite them. We are talking about Ayatul-Kursi, which is also called the verse of the Throne.

It says:

“Allah - there is no deity but Him, eternally living, eternally existing. Neither slumber nor sleep has power over Him. To Him belongs whatever is in heaven and whatever is on earth. Who, without His permission, will intercede before Him [for anyone]? He knows what was before people and what will be after them. People comprehend from His knowledge only what He wills. Heaven and earth are subject to Him, It is not a burden for Him to protect them. He is the Most High, the Great” (Sura “al-Baqarah”, 2/255).

The virtues of Ayatul-Kursi are mentioned in numerous hadiths. For example, Abu Hurairah (radiyallahu anhu) said:

“Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me to guard the zakat received in Ramadan. Then I saw how a man crept up to the amanat and began to steal food. I caught the thief and said that I would take him to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). However, he prayed and promised to tell the words that would benefit both worlds. He advised reading Ayatul-Kursi before going to bed. When the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) found out about what had happened, he explained: “The one who came to steal the zakat is shaitan. He is a liar, but this time he told you the truth” (Bukhari, Sahih, 61, 530).

Aifa ibn Abdul Kilai heard a man ask the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) to name the greatest sura of the Qur'an. He said that this is al-Baqarah, which contains the verse of the Throne. This is the highest mercy of Allah bestowed on people, and brings countless blessings in both worlds (Tirmidhi, 2169).
