Is it possible to congratulate Muslims on Friday with the words: "Juma Mubarak!"? Is it possible to congratulate on Friday with the words "Juma Mubarak"? Juma Mubarak what does it mean

Today the sun is shining brighter than usual

Today people look kinder.

"Juma Mubarak!" let's pronounce it normally

Noting Friday among other weekdays.

"Juma Mubarak!" - the words of congratulations on the holiday, on blessed Friday, sound from the very morning. On this day, even the air is filled with special warmth and kindness, because on Friday, Allah Almighty sends down countless blessings! Friday begins at sunset on Thursday and continues until sunset on Friday. That is, not only Friday is sacred, but also Friday night. There is a gap in this time when duas of people are accepted and if our duas coincide with this time, then insha Allah, they will be accepted by the Almighty. But Allah withheld from us a specific moment, the wisdom of this is that Muslims spend the whole Friday in worship, as there is a great blessing in this.

On this day, it is desirable to do more good deeds, distribute sadaqah, please relatives, especially parents, visit the sick and visit the graves of loved ones, cook delicious food for yourself and guests. Also on this day, it is desirable to bless the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as much as possible. The hadith says: The most valuable day of the week is Friday, on this day bless me many times, for your blessings reach me ».

It is advisable to start Friday morning with a ritual bath, then dress up in beautiful clean clothes, and anoint yourself with incense. Do not forget about the obligatory Friday prayer, which is prescribed for all men who have reached the age of majority. It is highly desirable to go to the Friday prayer to the mosque on foot as early as possible.

“On Friday, an angel stands in front of the gates of each mosque and begins to write down in turn the names of those who came to the mosque that day in the book of deeds. Thus, those who come to the mosque in the early hours receive a reward equal to the sacrifice of a camel. Those who came later - a reward equal to the sacrifice of a chicken, still later - a reward, as if they had given an egg as an alms. And after the imam goes up to the minbar, the angels stop writing down the names of those who came, and close their books, going to listen to the khutba.

Being in the house of Allah, you need to focus your thoughts only on worship, leaving all worries and talk about worldly things outside the gates of the mosque. It is highly undesirable to move forward pushing people aside. During the khutba, one cannot speak, and even one spoken word is unacceptable. Remember! Talking during the khutba deprives the reward for Friday prayer! Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If during the Friday sermon you say “Shut up” to your neighbor, you yourself are considered to have spoken! "(Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, Tirmizi).

There is a huge benefit for Muslims in observing all these rules: Allah Almighty will certainly please his slave, who on Friday, observing all the adab, will perform a collective Friday prayer without causing inconvenience to his neighbor either by word or action.

« The one who, having made a full ablution (ghusl) and having come to the mosque for Friday sermon, takes a place near the minbar and listens to the sermon without uttering a word, all his sins committed by him since last Friday will be forgiven "(Muslim, Tirmizi at-Taj volume 1: 288).

By following this hadith, everyone can receive a huge amount of benefits and protect themselves from various troubles. And for us it is a great joy that this day comes every week.

This beautiful day is Friday! May Almighty Allah accept all our good deeds and forgive us all our sins, and the barakah of a blessed Friday will fill our hearts. Amine!

For Muslims, every week there comes a significant day. This is the Friday that brings joy to the home of every righteous Muslim. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الجُمُعَةِ، فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ، وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الجَنَّةَ، وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا، وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلَّا فِي يَوْمِ الجُمُعَةِ

« The best day the sun rises on is Friday. On [this day] Allah created Adam. On [this day] he entered Paradise, on [this day] he was expelled from it, and the Last Hour will not strike on any other day than Friday » ( Ahmad, Tirmizi).

The question is asked: Is Friday a holiday for Muslims? »

Almighty Allah and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ singled out Friday among other days, obliging Muslims to perform Friday prayers on this day. Scholars also cite hadiths in which it is reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke of Friday as a holiday.

From Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) it is transmitted that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

إِنَّ هَذَا يَوْمُ عِيدٍ، جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ، فَمَنْ جَاءَ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ، وَإِنْ كَانَ طِيبٌ فَلْيَمَسَّ مِنْهُ، وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالسِّوَاكِ

« Indeed, this day is a holiday (eid) that Allah granted to Muslims. Those of you who go to Friday prayers, perform a full ablution (bathing); if there are incense, then apply them and do not forget about the sivak ". (Ibn Maja)

However, this begs another question: Is it possible to congratulate on Friday, and did the Prophet congratulateﷺ his companions with the words "Juma Mubarak!"?»

Yes, in fact, neither the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, nor the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) congratulated each other in this way!

But the question is whether or not everything that is not Sunnah is forbidden?

Scientists know this rule: Failure by the Prophetﷺ any action is not an argument for prohibiting this action!"(Al-Bid'a al-Izafiya" Sayf Al-'Asri).

Therefore, it is inappropriate to prohibit any words or deeds that the Prophet ﷺ and his companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) did not do, claiming that this is an innovation.

Any act or phrase that is not forbidden by religion is allowed for Muslims. Therefore, it is allowed to congratulate you on Friday with the words: “ Juma Mubarak!", since nowhere is it said about the prohibition of the words" Juma Mubarak».

What do these words mean?

The words " Juma Mubarak" do not imply a literal meaning " I congratulate you on Friday!". The meaning of these words is May it be a blessed Friday ».

It turns out that the phrase " Juma Mubarak"- this is rather a dua (prayer), and not a congratulation.

What does Prophet Muhammad sayﷺ about dua to a Muslim brother?

It was narrated from Abu d-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say:

مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ مُسْلمٍ يَدْعُو لأخِيهِ بِظَهْرِ الغَيْبِ إِلاَّ قَالَ المَلَكُ: وَلَكَ بِمِثْلٍ

« When any slave of Allah, professing Islam, appeals to Allah with a prayer for his absent brother in faith, the angel who is next to him always says: “May the same be with you! "". (Muslim 2732; Abu Dawud 1534)

And the words " Juma Mubarak on top of all this are a plea on Friday.

From Abdullah Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) it is reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ali ibn Abu Talib (may Allah be pleased with him):

« There is a time on Friday night when dua is accepted "(Tirmizi, Al-Hakim). Al-Hakim's version adds the words of the Prophet: " ... and there is a time on Friday when Allah will grant the slave everything that he asks, unless he asks for the forbidden ».

Conclusion:

From the Prophet ﷺ and companions (may Allah be pleased with them all), the words "Juma Mubarak" are not transmitted, but, nevertheless, this does not mean that it is forbidden.

Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), pronouncing the names of each other, did not say " May Allah be pleased with you' and we're talking about it. It is not prohibited. Likewise, the phrase " Juma Mubarak”, as an innovation, is also not forbidden.

« Juma Mubarak» - it's a reminder of friday . A person, pronouncing, sending or publishing these words on social networks, shares the joy of the onset of Friday, and this is very good.

Khabibula Abdulkarimov

Hello! Dear Jamila, first of all, it should be noted that what does not contradict the norms of Sharia and comes into contact with the general principles of Islam is not an innovation.

Your question can be interpreted comprehensively:

Friday - special dayandevery day of the week for Muslims. Therefore, the Prophet in one of the hadiths noted that Friday is a holiday:

“Indeed, this is a holiday for Muslims, ordained by God. Let the one who wishes to come to the Friday prayer perform ablution(and he should too)pay special attention to the use of misuakand let him anoint himself with incense, if he (can) find (them) ».

Greeting and saying good wishes to each other on holidays is a custom established by the Companions. In the book Fathul Bari, Jabir ibn Nufayr, a scholar from the Tabieen (a generation of Muslims who were students and followers of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad) said the following: “When the Companions met on the day of the holiday, they said to each other: “May Allah accept our intentions!”.

So, if we consider Friday a holiday, then congratulating on the onset of Friday and saying wishes is a good deed, and not an innovation (bidah). Congratulatory phrases may vary depending on the traditions of the local population. Therefore, there is nothing wrong with the use of the expression "Juma Mubarak", which has spread throughout the Muslim population.

"Juma Mubarak" and "May Friday be auspicious" are all good wishes to brothers and sisters in religion. In our religion, special attention is paid to the good wishes of one person to another. There are several hadiths and verses about this. In particular, Surah Hashr says:

“And those who came after them say: “Our Lord! Forgive us and our brothers who believed before us! Do not instill hatred and envy in our hearts for those who believe. Our Lord! Verily, You are the Compassionate, the Merciful."

Also, in one hadith narrated by Sahih Muslim, it says the following: “The appeal of a Muslim to Allah with a prayer for his brother in secret comes true. At his head is an angel assigned to him. Every time he prays for good for his brother, the angel assigned to him says: "Amin! And the same to you!" ... ".

What the prophet calls a noble prayer includes all prayers and wishes, and to single out any wishes from them, calling it an innovation, contradicts the words of the Prophet. The expression "Let Friday come with grace!" "May Allah accept your Friday prayer" - all this is considered a prayer, a supplication from Allah, for another person .

Also, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in several hadiths called for spreading “greetings” among people. He (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in one of his hadeeth: “Spread greetings, treat each other and be brothers to each other, as Allah Almighty commanded you».
