Mobile compressor operator training is carried out in accordance with the “List of worker professions, employee positions for which vocational training is carried out”, approved by Order of the Ministry of Education and Science No. 513 of July 2, 2013 “On approval of the List of worker professions, employee positions for which vocational training is carried out” , the requirements of the Unified Tariff and Qualification Directory of Work and Professions of Workers, the All-Russian Classifier of Worker Professions, Employee Positions and Tariff Grades.

Any compressor is a set of devices designed to produce compressed air or other gas. The advantage of a mobile compressor over a stationary one is, first of all, that their use is possible at sites where installation, much less assembly, of a stationary compressor is not possible.

These compressors are used for various industries, such as mining, transport, oil and gas, mobile machine maintenance, etc.

For example, typical applications for mobile compressors are servicing trucks, inflating tires, blowing radiators, etc.

The specialists who work on mobile compressors are mobile compressor operators.

The profession of a mobile compressor operator requires the following skills and abilities: maintenance of a mobile compressor unit, starting and stopping the compressor, diesel engine; laying communications, connecting them to the compressor unit and the wellhead; carrying out work to enhance the outflow of fluid from the well by creating a depression at the bottom, monitoring the influx of fluid (oil); adjusting the air supply during heat treatment of the bottomhole zone of the well; participation in work on opening productive formations using gaseous agents and eliminating complications in drilling; ability to adjust the operating modes of the compressor unit and diesel engine according to the readings of instrumentation; monitor the operation of all mechanisms and systems of a mobile compressor unit, establish the basic parameters of the installation in accordance with the technological regulations for drilling and testing (development) of wells, etc. A mobile compressor operator must know: methods of operating oil, gas and injection wells; purpose, design and operating rules of various compressor systems, power equipment, automobiles, instrumentation and automatic protection of the compressor unit; types of fuel, lubricants and cooling; methods for detecting and eliminating malfunctions in the operation of a mobile compressor unit; diagrams for connecting communications from the compressor unit to the well; consumption standards for operating materials for the production of compressed air; basic information on heating engineering, electrical engineering, drilling and production equipment, drilling technology, testing (development) and major repairs of oil and gas wells; plumbing in the scope of work performed.

To perform work, a compressor unit operator must undergo professional training, no more than once a year and at least once every 5 years, take short-term advanced training courses of at least 72 hours in order to acquire new knowledge and skills and increase the level, have a medical a book with no contraindications to work. It is important that persons under 18 years of age are not allowed to work as a mobile compressor operator.
