Principles and elements of calculation

There are many dressing schemes, each of them is described in detail in the technical literature - SNiPs. Whatever type of masonry is used, the number of bricks in one cubic meter remains constant. Bricks have standard sizes, their volume is also known in advance. Using the online masonry calculator, the number of cubic meters is calculated according to the specified parameters, taking into account the existing openings: walls, windows, arches.

For calculations, simple algorithms are used, and the initial data is obtained by measurements on the ground or according to the information indicated in the design documents.

Formula for calculating the volume of masonry:

V = (A*h - S1 - S2 - ... - Sn)*B , where

  • V- masonry volume;
  • A, h- the length and height of the walls;
  • S1, S2, Sn- area of ​​openings;
  • B- wall thickness.

All quantities must be measured in SI units (meter), then the result will be expressed in cubic meters. In order to get the number of bricks, the following calculations are required:

N = V/(Vkirp+n) , where

  • N- amount;
  • V- the volume obtained by the previous formula;
  • Vkirp- the volume of one brick, a constant value for a specific type of material;
  • n- coefficient of weld thickness, determined in accordance with SNiP.

Where to get the original data?

There are three typical brick sizes:

  • single - 250 * 120 * 65, its volume - 0.00195 cubic meters;
  • one and a half - 250 * 120 * 88, its volume - 0.00264 cubic meters;
  • double - 250 * 120 * 138, its volume is 0.00414 cubic meters.

To calculate brick for masonry, the calculator requires you to determine the type of material used. In addition, you need to specify the thickness of the seams, since they occupy a significant share in the total volume of the walls. For example, a 10 mm joint in volume takes 10 - 12% of the masonry. For the same reason, it is necessary to accurately measure and indicate the area of ​​​​openings - windows, doors.

Calculation tolerances

The calculator is designed to calculate walls made entirely of bricks. For this reason, structures that have voids or filled must be calculated by other methods, since the result will be greatly overestimated. Another factor affecting the result is the thickness of the seams. Suppose a 10 mm gap is included in the calculation, but in practice the builders have slightly reduced or increased it. In this case, the error in the calculation will be the greater, the greater the volume of masonry.
