How best to insulate the floor of the first floor. The problem of cold floors on the ground floor is that insulation is a must. Video instruction for floor insulation

During a major or cosmetic repairs it is very useful to know how to close a crack in the wall, because without rough preparation, the further progress of the work is useless. Even a small crack requires special attention, because over time it will increase, which will entail serious consequences. When starting to eliminate a crack, it is important to take into account its width and depth, the material of the wall, since the methods and tools used in each individual case may differ. In addition, after the defect is eliminated, the restored surface must be properly looked after.

Necessary tools and materials

To seal cracks, you will need the following material:

  • wood glue in the consistency of thin sour cream, mixed with tooth powder or chalk chips;
  • strips of cotton fabric, gauze, medical bandage impregnated with PVA glue (they can be replaced with fiberglass tape);
  • cement mortar mixed with paint - prevents the penetration of moisture;
  • lime-cement mortar reinforced with mesh;
  • sandpaper for grouting;
  • primer;
  • sealant;
  • putty mixture;
  • mounting foam;
  • finishing plaster.

Preparation of cement mortar for sealing gaps, cracks, seams

Of the tools you will need:

  1. brush;
  2. brush;
  3. putty knife;
  4. construction mixer;
  5. foam sponge;
  6. gun for sealant and polyurethane foam.

In some cases, you will additionally need a hammer, a chisel and a puncher with nozzles to work.

How to close a crack: types of mixtures

In order to choose how to cover up cracks in the wall, you need to take into account the features of the coating:

How to dilute the solution yourself

Cracks in the walls can occur both outside and inside the building. Therefore, there are two main types of mortar - plaster for exterior and for interior work.

I. Mortar for sealing cracks outside the building

Restoration of the integrity of the surface of the walls outside the building is carried out using cement mortar plaster. It is prepared as follows: cement and sand are used in a ratio of 1 to 3, PVA glue is added, diluted with water to a consistency of medium density. You can use ready-made dry solutions, which can only be diluted with water in the ratio indicated on the package.

II. Solution for interior work

For interior work, lime mortar is used: lime and sand are mixed in a ratio of 1 to 4, diluted with water. The consistency should be such that, when thrown onto the wall, the mixture lays down in a dense “pancake”, and not a lump.

Using mounting foam

Large gaps in walls, such as those made of masonry, can be filled with foam. The gap is pre-cleaned of debris, filled with a primer, then with foam. When the mounting foam “grabs”, it is cut to a depth of about 20 mm, and a cement mortar or adhesive is placed in this gap.

Foam is also used to seal through cracks in temporary buildings.

What nuances do you need to know when using polyurethane foam to repair cracks?

When working with mounting foam it should be remembered that too much of it leads to an increase in the crack, and its remains should not protrude outward from the gap. It is added not by a single filling, but in stages, for those areas where it is not enough. Excess foam is cut off, the gap is waterproofed, covered with cement mortar from the outside, and plastered from the inside.

Crack Filling Method

The sealing of cracks in the walls is carried out by different methods, depending on the type of surface. Consider the details of eliminating gaps on surfaces made of various materials.

In brickwork

Sealing cracks in brick walls carried out different ways, depending on the size of the damage. If the width of the defect is up to 5 mm, you can get rid of it with a cement mortar or ordinary tile adhesive. The gap is expanded with a spatula or hammer, cleaned of contaminants. The gap is treated with a primer, then filled with cement or adhesive mortar.

To eliminate cracks with a width of 10-15 mm, a cement-based solution is also used, but with the addition of fine sand. A serpentine tape is glued over the repaired area and a putty is applied.

In a plastered wall

Plaster can crack both outside and inside the house. In any case, the restoration procedure begins with the expansion of cracks, their deepening with a spatula or a sharp knife. Further, the gap is cleaned of dirt, primed with a deep penetration solution. When the primer dries, the plaster mixture is laid inside the gap to its entire depth. Without waiting for the solution to dry, a reinforcing tape is glued over the crack, covering with plaster. For repairs, it is recommended to use a gypsum mixture.

When the plaster layer dries, it is rubbed with sandpaper for complete alignment.

On drywall sheets

Cracks in drywall can appear due to too thick a layer of applied plaster or a violation thermal regime when it dries. Vertical and horizontal cracks occur at the joints between the sheets due to the weakening of the metal frame of the wall or the absence of a reinforcing tape.

In the first case, cracks form a “cobweb”. To get rid of it, you need to remove the damaged layer of plaster and apply a new one, but not more than 2 mm thick. Each layer of plaster must dry thoroughly.

In the second case, you need to take a number of actions:

  1. Expand the cracks with a sharp knife at an angle of 45 degrees.
  2. Fill gaps with gypsum mortar.
  3. Apply reinforcing tape over the filled crack.
  4. The surface is leveled with plaster and sanded with an abrasive mesh before applying a decorative coating.

In a concrete wall

Cement mortar is used to seal gaps in concrete walls. The surface is prepared, cleaned of dirt, the remnants of old plaster are removed, then the cracks are carefully filled with mortar. Often, experts recommend that before filling the gap with cement mortar, lubricate its internal cavity with PVA glue.

In case of large defects and through cracks, the gaps are filled with mounting foam, sealed from the inside with gypsum mortar, and from the outside - with cement-sand plaster. Defects less than 5 mm wide can be sealed with sealant.

What if the crack is long and deep

How to close a crack in the wall if it is deep? Slots with a width of more than 15 mm are considered dangerous, because. can cause the wall to collapse. If such gaps appear on brickwork, the defective area is dismantled and replaced with a new masonry. At the same time, bricks are laid in a special castle method, reinforcing the rows with pieces of reinforcement.

New masonry will help such a crack

You can protect the wall from destruction due to significant cracks if you install jumpers or make metal reinforcement. This method is effective for monolithic, concrete walls: metal corners are pulled together with long bolts, sometimes it is necessary to install reinforcing belts around the entire perimeter of a room or building. The reinforcing belt is installed before closing a crack in the wall - under the roof, above the foundation, sometimes in several rows.

Such a crack should be sealed with foam, cement, reinforcing with a reinforcing belt

A wide and deep gap in drywall can be filled with gypsum plaster

How long does the solution dry

You can start finishing the wall only after the repair mortar has completely dried. Drying time depends on the material used. Gypsum plaster dries in about three days. Cement-lime mortar will need from 24 hours to two days. The cement mortar dries for 24 hours, and for facade plaster it only takes 8 hours.

When the material dries, special conditions must be created to prevent re-cracking: the air temperature is not higher than + 25 ° C, the absence of drafts and direct sunlight.

Finishing

Finishing after the repair of cracks and cracks is carried out after the solution has completely dried. The dried mixture is well polished, leveling with the rest of the wall surface. The primer is then applied until it no longer soaks into the restored area of the surface. After that, you can start decorative trim– painting, wallpapering, applying textured plaster, etc.

The consistency of the finishing putty should be dense, but not too thick.

How to care for a restored wall

The wall restored after repair, first of all, must be protected from various mechanical influences - do not move the furniture too close to it, hammer nails into the places of the repaired cracks, and protect it from blows with the door.

Wipe the walls carefully so as not to damage the decorative coating layer. If the decorative coating is durable, it will be able to protect the wall from various influences that can cause re-cracking, provided that the repair of the crack was carried out efficiently and the plaster was completely dry before decorative finishing work. Therefore, methods such as coating with colorless varnish are used. decorative plaster, applying waterproof paint to the surface of the walls, using wooden, plastic, gypsum panels, non-woven wallpaper.

Videos about repairing cracks in the walls

The main stages of sealing a crack in a plastered wall in a video:

What materials to use to cover cracks can be found in this video:

The appearance of cracks on the facade of the house or inside it can be caused by various reasons: foundation shrinkage, improper rough finishing, violation of the brickwork process, the use of poor-quality or inappropriate materials, and many others. It is important to notice their appearance in time and take all necessary measures to eliminate defects. A fine network of cracks in the plaster is usually not associated with the danger of wall collapse, but in any case, the process of the appearance of new gaps must be controlled, as well as their increase in size.

The walls are subjected to various deformations and traces of destruction are formed on them. The solution to the question: "how to close a crack in the wall" cannot be postponed. It is necessary to find the cause of the defect and eliminate it. After that, quickly and correctly strengthen the wall in the place of the defect and veneer.

Causes and dynamics of the formation of defects

There are many reasons why cracks form on the wall. Basically, this is poor-quality work done during construction and poor, inappropriate technical documentation, material. Ignoring the results of geological exploration or not conducting soil studies is about half of the reasons for the formation of large defects in the facade. Among the most common causes of wall failure:

  • the use of raw material in the laying of walls;
  • soil subsidence;
  • high groundwater level;
  • weak foundation does not withstand loads;
  • deepening of the foundation is less than the level of soil freezing;
  • violation of construction technology;
  • poor quality building materials;
  • unprotected facade made of hygroscopic material;
  • lack of waterproofing between the basement and the wall.

Strengthening cracks in the wall should begin with identifying the cause of their formation and, if possible, eliminating it. It is necessary to trace the dynamics of the expansion of the gap within a few days, and close it as soon as possible.

Reinforcing mixtures are selected based on their masonry materials, and depend on the location inside or outside.

Installation of beacons

Experts recommend installing beacons on cracks in the wall immediately after detecting a defect and observing the result for 8 to 10 days while everything is being prepared. necessary materials to prevent further damage. Gypsum and solutions based on it, special devices and strips of paper are used as beacons.

Before installing beacons on a crack in the wall, it is necessary to clean the place of their attachment. Otherwise, the beacon will slide along with the plaster.

Paper strips are stretched across the fault and glued on both sides. When the wall moves, they break.

Gypsum beacons are placed indoors. Stir gypsum with water to a thick putty consistency. From the composition, a kind of dumbbell is made with wide edges and a narrow middle. A beacon is attached across the defect. On it you can put risks on both sides at a certain distance. Then use them to measure the size of the offset.

For external use, a cement-gypsum mixture is used. It is less susceptible to moisture.

Professionals are armed with various devices, including micrometers, which are mounted on the wall and record the slightest displacement in hundredths of a mm in both directions.

Defects in the basement, their elimination

The plinth is in direct contact with the soil, constantly flooded with rainwater and covered with snow. Cracks in the lower part of the house are formed more often than in the walls.

Cinder block and other building blocks

Defects in the block plinth occur mainly due to the mobility of the soil under them. If the foundation is weak, it is advisable to strengthen it by digging a ditch along the perimeter next to it to the full depth and filling it with mortar. This will strengthen the foundation of the house, and cracks will appear much less frequently. When pouring from the roof of the corner of the building, it begins to sag, warping the base and causing deformation.

How to repair cracks in a cinder block wall after eliminating the causes of subsidence of the foundation:

  1. Remove plaster and other finishes.
  2. Clear cracks, remove all pieces that are not firmly held.
  3. Remove dust and sand with a damp sponge.
  4. Hammer the anchors into the crack with a hammer. Fix them with dowels on 2 sides.
  5. Connect the anchors with wire if the crack is narrow. If it is wide, fix the metal mesh.
  6. Fill the crack cavity with cement-sand mortar from the outside and gypsum or gypsum-cement mortar from the inside.
  7. A layer of plaster is applied over the grid. After drying, it is cleaned with a fine sandpaper, leveled and further finishing is done.

Slag base and walls

The reason for the formation of cracks in the slag-filling house is in a hurry and a violation of technology. After the formwork was installed, the solution was poured quickly, without ramming it and without releasing the formed air bubbles. Over time, these internal voids become stress concentrators and cracks form along them.

When the temperature changes, condensation forms in the bubbles. Freezing, it bursts concrete particles and destroys it. Several actions are performed to close a crack in the wall of a slag-filled house.

  1. Clear the gap by increasing its width and depth.
  2. Remove all crumbling fragments, sand.
  3. Remove all dust with a wet sponge.
  4. Fill the void with cement mortar.
  5. Put a metal reinforced mesh on top with a margin of 40 - 50 cm in all directions. Fasten it with dowels.
  6. Plaster the entire area with cement-sand mortar.

Further finishing is carried out in accordance with the rest of the plinth. It is advisable to cover the top with a moisture-resistant material to prevent moisture from entering and slow down the destruction.

Often the slots in slag-filled plinths can be through. In this case, they are sealed on both sides, well tamping the cement mortar into the void. Other material is also suitable for sealing a crack in the wall. If it is not load-bearing or lightly loaded, mounting foam is used. After hardening, its excess is cut off 2 mm deep, the mesh is attached and everything is plastered.

External wall repair

Less danger for the destruction of the house are horizontal cracks in the walls. The reason for their formation is related to the design of the house:

  • different depths of the foundation of the outer walls and under the partitions;
  • lack of ligament between internal and external walls;
  • poor quality masonry;
  • closely spaced ground water wash away the foundation;
  • wind movement of the roof.

Usually, a thin winding crack, several mm wide, runs along the perimeter. It is cut, cleaned of dust and primed. After that, fill with sealant.

An armored belt is made around the perimeter of a metal strip and anchors. After that, the crack in the wall should be repaired from the inside in the same way.

Note! Vertical defects in a load-bearing wall are dangerous, especially if they continue to expand.

Restoration of facade plaster

Timely sealing of cracks in the plaster of the outer walls significantly extends the operational period of the building. If the finishing technology is violated and the proportions of the plaster components are not respected, the facade resembles parched soil. How to remove cracks on the plaster of the walls outside. It is impossible to cut them all, it is easier to completely remove the plaster.

  1. Clean the wall with a metal brush from all particles that are weak to stick to.
  2. Coat with a deep penetration primer. Use a coarse brush and rub the primer in different directions.
  3. Attach polypropylene or fiberglass mesh.
  4. Apply a thin layer of plaster. If it is necessary to even out large differences, plaster in 2 - 3 layers, cleaning and covering with a primer.
  5. cover the walls water-based paint or make a different facade decoration.

By themselves, small cracks in the plaster are not dangerous. But they get into rainwater, which destroys the wall covering. In winter, it freezes, penetrating deeper into the plaster and then the masonry. That is why it is necessary to close up a crack in the plaster on the wall.

Strengthening brickwork

Small cracks in the brickwork formed instead of the spilled mortar are sealed to prevent water from entering and further destruction. They must be cleaned with a metal brush, blow out the dirt from them and sealed with sealant or mounting foam using a thin nozzle on the gun.

To close a crack in the wall of a brick house with a width of more than 1 cm, especially if it continues to expand, it is necessary with the help of screeds.

  1. The wall is cut perpendicular to the crack or along the horizontal seams between the bricks. Holes are drilled along the edges of the recess.
  2. The reinforced metal bar is welded with the letter "P", the crossbar is equal to the length of the selected recesses. The side pins are inserted into the hole.
  3. A crossbar is welded on the inside. The excess is cut off.

Such through brackets are placed at a distance of 20 cm from each other along the entire length of the crack.

Local cracks in the wall that do not expand are best removed by laying bricks. Dismantle all the broken brick from top to bottom. Lay a new one in its place, with dressing - displacement of bricks.

What solution is better to seal the cracks in the walls of the house so that it does not get enough sleep. You need to add plasticizers. For external walls it is lime and Bustilat glue. In the cement mortar, their content should not exceed 10%.

Concrete wall

A solid and waterproof concrete slab is not eternal. Over time, defects form in it. The façade needs to be inspected from time to time. It is easier to repair small cracks in the wall than to repair a crumbling panel.

  1. Use a jackhammer to clear the crack.
  2. Cover the opened metal reinforcement with a primer so that it does not rust.
  3. Seal the crack with a mortar of cement and water.
  4. From above, plaster with the addition of river sand to the cement.

In the presence of a large number small cracks in concrete wall indoors, cover with a primer for concrete, stick fiberglass and putty.

Elimination of defects in the walls inside the room

Often, small cracks in the masonry appear on the finish: the wallpaper is torn and lagged behind, the tile swells. Sealing cracks in the wall of the apartment begins with the removal of cladding and plaster. Having cleaned to the brickwork, the cracks must be cut, filled with sealant. Then lay a strip of sickle mesh on top and putty. After drying, clean, plaster.

Cracks in plaster

During the repair, small cracks in the wall are sealed. If a vertical gap has formed, and the restoration work is far away, the wall should be restored.

Foam blocks, aerated concrete and other lightweight materials

Often a crack appears in the wall of foam blocks, how to close up a warm, soft material. All blocks manufactured with the introduction of air inside are suitable as a good heat insulator. The material is not designed for heavy loads. In the construction of residential buildings, foam blocks are used for the inner layer of masonry and they have little effect on the strength of the house structure.

How to fix cracks in a foam block wall? Gypsum mortar with the addition of PVA glue as a plasticizer - up to 5% and reinforcing polyethylene or plastic fiber.

  1. Clean the defect with the angle of a metal spatula or a construction knife.
  2. Cover with primer.
  3. Fill with solution.
  4. Fix sickle or polypropylene mesh.
  5. Cover with putty.

After drying, clean and carry out subsequent wall decoration by painting or sticking wallpaper.

Features of working with plaster

Plaster blocks are used to create soundproof and lightweight partitions. If there is no foundation internal walls, then it can be laid on beams, choosing hollow slabs. How to repair cracks in plaster walls. The name itself suggests the material. The cracks are sealed with a solution of gypsum with PVA or Bustilat. Small defects and gaps between the boards can be filled with sealant or gypsum adhesive.

A beautiful corner instead of a torn slit

Depending on the size of the defect in the corner, it is reinforced with metal corners or only with mesh. A large gap, especially if it grows, requires urgent repair.

  1. Clean up.
  2. Select at a distance of 20 - 25 cm platforms on both sides of the gap for fastening the corners.
  3. Drill holes, hammer in dowels and fix metal corners with sides on different walls.
  4. Fill a large gap with foam if the wall is brick or foam block. Concrete joint with cement and water.
  5. Lay sickle or fiberglass.
  6. Plaster.
  7. For an even corner, drown a perforated metal corner in the plaster - a profile.
  8. To putty, to clean.

If the house is panel and defects have formed at the junction, it is necessary to inform the homeowner and demand from him external repairs and sealing of the panel joints.

Drywall needs to be replaced

Used for leveling walls, they swell from moisture and warp. When dried, they form gaps in the outer coating. You can close up a fine mesh of defects with putty. But for a long time, a sheet repaired in this way will not last.

How to repair cracks in plasterboard walls? Small defects can be repaired with acrylic. The deformed septum is restored by replacing the swollen GKL. The sheet is neatly trimmed. If it is installed, the fastener is removed. In its place, another plate is placed or glued to the wall. Joints between sheets are sealed.

If defects are formed due to the drying of gypsum plaster, fiberglass can be glued as a reinforcing material.

All buildings are destroyed over time, and this process is irreversible. However, it is possible to extend the life of the property, for this it is necessary to carry out repairs in a timely manner and close the resulting cracks. When renovating their homes, many are forced to face this problem. in the wall so that the further repair process turns out to be of high quality?

Holes in the wall are quite common.

Why are many structures subject to destructive processes?

In order to eliminate a crack in the wall, you need to find out the cause of its formation and establish the material from which it is made. To do this, an analysis is carried out, finding out the size and location of the crack.

It should be noted that gaps arise in a variety of cases: errors or complete non-compliance technological process laying building materials, assembling drywall, laying concrete or incorrectly made proportion of the plaster mix, incompatibility of building materials of walls and plaster, sudden changes from heat to cold. There are a lot of factors influencing the appearance of cracks and cracks.

We get rid of cracks on the plastered wall

Both for external and for walls inside the structure, the destruction of plaster is one of the most common problems. They very often form on sand-cement plaster. Most often - they are quite thin, not thicker than a hair, and they are usually located along the entire wall in the form of a cobweb. They are especially noticeable after priming plastered walls. This happens when the proportion is violated during the preparation of the plaster mixture, as well as when it is incorrectly applied or after care for the surface. It also happens if the material is applied in a thick layer at a time (more than 2-3 cm), this is unacceptable, as the technology is violated.

Among other things, cracks may appear when it is done (painting or wallpapering). To avoid this, before the final putty, it is necessary to reinforce the wall. Various building materials will help with this, for example, painting fiberglass, fiberglass mesh or. Considering that glass wallpapers are much more expensive, we will not focus on them, it is only worth noting that the method of their application does not differ from gluing fiberglass.

Video on how to stick fiberglass:

Fiberglass is considered the best option for eliminating cracks in the walls. It is fixed on a special glue (for glass wallpaper) (treated with soil) base, followed by puttying or painting without applying it. Due to its structure, fiberglass is a reinforcing material.

When the walls are deeply damaged, the options for elimination

One of the main reasons why cracks appear in the walls is the uneven settlement of the constructed structure. First of all, this applies to new houses, which during the first two or three years after construction give a draft. After this period, most often, the built house no longer precipitates so much and rarely cracks. However, this is not insurance against further slight deformation and, therefore, cracks will appear anyway.

In addition, the cause of cracks and crevices on the walls may be non-compliance with the technological process during the construction of the building. This includes an incorrectly made cement composition, and improper laying of stone blocks or, as well as a violation during the construction of the foundation, etc.

Under various circumstances, cracks appear in the walls and. If the cracks are deep, then beacons should be set first to determine if they continue to expand. Lighthouses are a control seal of cracks in some places with a cement mortar for research. If there has been an expansion of cracks, first establish the cause of their creation and only at the end of the process close them. If there is an increase every day of the crack, you need to turn to professionals to prevent the destruction of the house and ensure the safety of your life.

If GKL cracked

The plasterboard wall is cracking, mainly at the seam. A problem arises when non-compliance and fixing of GKL sheets. For correct installation sheets you need to study the rules for installing GKL. A common mistake is also the one that the seams in drywall are not properly sealed. However, sometimes there are other cases, for example, a sharp temperature drop in the room, great dampness or a flood. When interacting with water, drywall is subject to deformation, and when it dries, it cannot be corrected. This leads to its complete replacement in case of flooding.

  • capacity to prepare the plaster mixture;
  • grater and half grater;
  • steel trowel;
  • Master OK;
  • brush and brush;
  • small trowel for filling small holes.

You can make a solution yourself or ready-made dry ones are sold in stores. plaster mixes that are diluted with water.

According to the advice of experts, for better sealing of cracks in the wall surface, it is recommended to use reinforced tape, thanks to which cracks do not spread further.

Summing up, it can be noted that, if cracks are identified, first you need to decide on the correct selection of the option for sealing cracks. And then the surface will be repaired quickly and efficiently, and for a long time you will not have to resort.

What to do if a crack appears on the wall of a panel house?

WE ARE ASKED: Are cracks a sign of dangerous imperfections and defects in construction? It's no secret that residents apartment buildings they can be a serious signal of concern, because the full picture of the damage is not visible, and the load-bearing structures of the building are at risk.

When do cracks occur?

Cracks, the thickness of which does not exceed one millimeter, are not a cause for concern. In the P-3 series, for example, the presence of cracks on the last floors and technical floors is caused by cracking of the outer plaster or putty layer intended for painting. It looks terrible. But the penetration of precipitation into the panel does not occur. It is desirable to carry out cosmetic sealing. cracks to stop further cracking. The work is carried out by industrial climbers. The material for sealing the seams of cracks is a sealant for interpanel seams. such a service is ordered by phone of the company and is called crack sealing). On average, 2x room apartment out 30 running meters. The cost of 1 running meter is 300 rubles. It turns out an average of 105500 with the price of slaves and materials. Causes of cracks in the walls

Insufficient bearing capacity of the soil foundation of the structure and changes in the soil under the structure, as well as behavior building material under the influence of heat and moisture (shrinkage and swelling) as well as external influences such as wind, rain and even heavy traffic, this can also activate the occurrence of cracks in individual elements of the building.

Is crack dangerous?

The mentioned cracks are not dangerous. Even in houses that are more than a hundred years old, new cracks can form. The reason for this may be the strengthening traffic, and changes in soil structure due to increased humidity or, say, construction works in the neighboring area.

In new buildings, during the first five years of operation of the building, this is quite normal, as it shrinks.

But the restructuring or major reconstruction of the building is already dangerous.

The degree of danger is revealed as follows: climbers make marks from plaster or simply strips of special paper.

And within three to four weeks - CONTROL whether a crack will appear on the plaster mark

If a fissure appears, continue to observe it for another eight to twelve weeks. And if it really continues to grow, be sure to contact an expert in the construction field.

Assistance options will be prompted by a specialist based on the conclusions whether the crack develops further, and how it affects the statics of the structure.

What to do with a crack

Cracks that do not grow or develop can be covered up cosmetically.

The materials used are artificial resins or filling cements sometimes deep penetration fillers or dense primers.

Crack in the walls and its causes. Case from our practice

Some problems that are associated with the reliability of certain buildings sometimes cause panic attacks in people. Such situations happen quite often, and one of them was voiced by the owner of an apartment in an old 9-storey building. panel house:

We live on the 5th floor and both of our 2 rooms have a common outside wall. It is she who causes us great fear. We regularly hear clicks and crackles, and this is especially evident at night. This situation has been going on for more than a month, and now the appearance of incomprehensible sounds has become more frequent (summer is in the yard). At the same time, there are no visible cracks in the wall. We are thinking whether it is worth continuing to live in our apartment or whether it is time to change the place of deployment before it is too late.

Panel 9-storey apartment building P-44 series

Employees of ZhEKa, in fact, do not react in any way to our appeal. They just shrug their shoulders, but they cannot give a clear answer. With our next attempts to solve the problem, you can hear too funny answers from them, as if the whole thing is in faulty wiring, wallpaper is peeling off or a brownie is operating in the apartment.

Causes of cracking

Everything is quite simple. The problem lies in the interpanel seams, which are the weak point of such houses. As for the sounds themselves, they become stronger with a sharp temperature drop, which can be observed in summer. Walls in the sun warm up during the day, and quickly cool down at night. In such a situation, we can say with 90% confidence that the interpanel seam has exhausted its resource and collapsed.

The cause of cracking in the walls can also be a slight movement of the panels, which are interconnected by welding. To find out exactly what causes unpleasant sounds, it is better to call industrial climbers without delay to examine the wall. If, however, the problem lies in the seams, it is necessary to seal them and bring them to their original state. You will have to pay a lot for this, but now you can sleep peacefully.
