Vinyl slopes of the front door. How to finish the front door after installation: types of door structures and materials, processing of the threshold and jambs, lining the door leaf with laminate. What material to choose for the device slopes

Installation new door differs in the incompleteness of the process, if you do not take care that the slopes leading inside the apartment are equipped. Their installation is The final stage repair work in the part of the room where the door is located.

For quality design door space usually turn to specialists. At the same time, familiarization with the relevant information allows you to carry out such work on your own. It is enough to study the tips and recommendations below to equip the slopes of the doorway yourself.

Under the slopes of the type in question, one must understand the part of the wall that forms door frame and serves as a framework.

Recently, the design of this space has become mandatory, which is in demand for the overall design of the corridor. If you avoid carrying out the indicated work, then the aesthetics of the apartment as a whole will be violated. In this regard, it is necessary to approach the design comprehensively.

Types of finishing materials

Choosing the “right” material is a big part of success when finishing slopes. If you do not have experience in finishing work or it is minimal, then refuse to implement too complex tasks for arranging the space around the door.

The rest you can experiment. Exists a large number of materials, work with which does not imply the presence of serious builder skills.

MDF panels

Well-known material, characterized by diversity colors. Able to provide finishing slopes in any room, regardless of the interior.

MDF panels are fastened either with ordinary nails or with liquid nails. Self-tapping screws also find their use.

The positive aspects of the panels include:

  • aesthetic appeal;
  • texture variability, which allows you to give the slopes an expensive and sophisticated look;
  • the ability to withstand mechanical stress, if their strength is not very large;
  • ease of installation, when all the work can be done by one person without resorting to the services of specialists;
  • high soundproofing characteristics.

As for the disadvantages, they also exist:

  • strong impacts can damage the panels or lead to scratches on them;
  • the appearance of the panels is subject to change if this material is used in rooms where the environment is excessively humid, for example, in baths;
  • dirt accumulates on the panels, which is problematic or in some cases impossible to clean.

Decorative stone effect tiles

The interior, complemented by decorative tiles, acquires originality and respectability. A natural stone looks expensive. In our case, it is replaced by imitation, but this does not reduce the “degree” of aesthetics too much. Fastening decorative tiles produced by using a special solution.

The advantages of this material are as follows:

  • light weight;
  • moisture resistance;
  • affordable price;
  • no need for complex care;
  • a wide range of textures, which allows you to choose a tile that imitates almost any stone;
  • preservation physical characteristics with significant temperature fluctuations.

The main disadvantage of decorative tiles is its fragility. At the same time, difficulties are possible in the process of finishing the door space with its help. The size of the tile and the size of the doorway do not always match. This forces the tile to be cut. This is where the difficult moment comes in. Such work requires a certain qualification, which is usually absent from a non-professional.

Attention! Choosing a heavy tile poses some danger. The slope elements in its upper part may lag behind. This is a threat to human health, and possibly his life.

Laminate

Another common material used in decoration. It does not have a natural origin, but it is completely safe from an environmental point of view.

Benefits of laminate flooring include:

  • color variety;
  • high strength index;
  • trouble-free removal of contaminants;
  • serious shelf life (up to 15 years);
  • excellent thermal insulation characteristics;
  • the possibility of easy fixing on the surface of the laminate of one or another decorative element(it is enough to use glue).

The main disadvantages of this finishing material are that it does not tolerate temperature extremes and high humidity. Such conditions contribute to the rapid loss appearance and decrease technical parameters. Installing laminate on the frame leads to a noticeable reduction in the doorway.

Plastic

The doorway trimmed with plastic is the best option if you want to save. The material of this type is distinguished by an acceptable price, low weight and a variety of textures. It also doesn't require much maintenance.

The disadvantage of plastic lies in its fragility. Physical impact, applied with a small force, can lead to deformation of the material or it may simply break.

Decorative rock

A material that can add luxury to the interior. It's expensive, but worth it.

Finishing with decorative stone has a lot of positives:

  • installation on any surface, regardless of how flat it is;
  • less significant weight compared to natural stone;
  • installation in any doorways is possible, regardless of their size and shape;
  • immunity to moisture and high temperatures;
  • does not absorb odors and is easy to care for;
  • environmental Safety;
  • ability to keep warm;
  • a wide range of textures.

There is only one negative moment of decorative stone: it is not recommended to use it as a material exterior finish doors facing the street.

Attention! A slight destruction of the material is possible at sufficiently low temperatures, when there are severe frosts.

Plaster

Most cheap option finishes. With the help of plaster, the slopes are not only sealed, but also leveled.

The advantages of this material are as follows:

  • acts as a heater;
  • differs in acceptable durability;
  • does not require complex care;
  • gives a unique appearance, which depends on how the plaster will be applied;
  • able to last a very long time.

The negative perception of plaster as a finishing material for slopes is due to the fact that the finishing process leads to dirt and dust. To this, you can also add a long drying time (up to 5 days).

Drywall

The availability of this material and the ease of installation explain why it is so popular. If you decide to sheathe slopes with drywall, then you do not need any qualifications or experience. Enough desire.

Drywall is:

  • cheap;
  • safe from the standpoint of ecology;
  • reliable, as the material is durable;
  • for a long time, which is due to high performance characteristics;
  • comfortable due to heat retention and soundproofing properties;
  • functionally (you can equip any doorway, regardless of its shape).

A certain disadvantage of drywall is the fear of moisture. Although this is not entirely a minus. There are moisture resistant types of this material on the market. Choose one of them to get rid of the mentioned drawback.

Vinyl

Suitable for ennobling openings that differ in non-standard sizes. The appearance of vinyl slopes is self-sufficient, that is, they do not require additional design. Critical temperature changes in no way harm this material. Installation of slopes from vinyl is available to everyone.

It should be borne in mind that the operation of vinyl is associated with the release of harmful substances present in this material. If you want to get high strength characteristics, then buy expensive material.

How to make the slopes of the front door with your own hands

Making slopes is greatly simplified if drywall is used. To put this into practice, it is necessary to prepare not only the material of this type, but also the corresponding tool:

  • a ruler that is of sufficient length, which can be replaced by a straight rail;
  • tape measure, level, pencil;
  • stationery knife, spatula, hammer;
  • screwdriver, puncher, drill.

Before proceeding with direct installation, it is necessary to check how far the base of the wall is from the door slope. If this distance is insufficient, the drywall will go beyond the edge of the slope.

Installation

  1. Prepare the workpiece according to the side slope. The drywall sheet should be 1 cm larger than it. If this is not the case, then the workpiece will not enter the gap that forms the opening and the box.
  2. Make a recess in the mounting foam where the side blank will be inserted. It should be slightly bent on the other side, and then foam should be applied, which needs to be done along the entire length.
  3. Press the sheet tightly against the wall, observing the vertical of its location. Seal existing gaps with foam.
  4. Install the second slope in the same way as described above.
  5. Prepare a blank for the upper part of the opening (more than 1 cm), and make a recess in the mounting foam where the drywall sheet will be installed.
  6. Install the top, observing the correctness of the angles formed as a result of combining the side sections of the slope and the top. This will require a level.
  7. Secure the sheet with mounting foam.
  8. Wait until polyurethane foam dry (1 day), and proceed to the design of drywall.

How to issue
The process of refining slopes should begin with the creation of corners, which will require puttying.

It is implemented like this:

  1. a not very thick layer of putty is applied to the corner, which is done with a spatula;
  2. after drying, a sickle is applied to give strength. It is also covered with putty in one layer;
  3. the final layer of putty is applied, but after the previous one has dried. The thickness of this layer should be minimal. Any irregularities are not allowed.

If the slopes are going to be painted, then they must first be plastered twice. Wallpapering makes it possible to eliminate the need for puttying.

Conclusion
Arrangement door slopes cannot be called too difficult work, especially when materials familiar to everyone are used. Anyone can do it on their own without resorting to the services of professionals.

It is only necessary:

  • carefully study the relevant recommendations and advice;
  • if possible, seek advice from a specialist;
  • purchase the “right” materials, that is, those that will allow for simple and quick installation of door slopes.

Already in the apartment. Reliability, safety, high-quality protection that protects against heat loss and all kinds of external sounds and noises is provided. Now it remains only to bring the marafet. From the outside, entrance doors are most often ennobled with platbands or sealed with mortar by the installers or independently during installation. From the inside, everything is much more deplorable. Bare concrete, bricks, door fastenings are visible. It is necessary to organize slopes to hide all this disgrace. Finishing the slopes of the front door can be done by installers, however, not every company undertakes this. In this case, you will have to do this work yourself. The process itself is not particularly complicated with any method of forming slopes. Presented below is detailed instructions about how to make slopes with your own hands.

Ways to perform slopes

The main purpose of the slope is to give a normal appearance to the doorway and securely cover the fasteners of the door frame, thereby increasing the burglary resistance of the entire structure. There are several ways to form slopes:

  • grouting and plastering;
  • gluing with a solution of finishing material;
  • frame sheathing with finishing material.

The division is made precisely according to the method of forming the slope, because the materials for sheathing can be selected in a variety of ways: laminate, MDF, drywall, plastic panels, wooden lamellas, cellulose panels and much more. The main thing is to decide how to fix the slopes of the front door with your own hands.

Filling the entire slope with mortar is the most acceptable option in terms of protection and soundproofing. Moreover, the result is a slope that does not bend, has no voids. However, this option is somewhat constrained in the design sense. Alternatively, you can decorate the slope with textured plaster and paint.

If, in addition to filling with a solution, you also mount various finishing materials, then you can achieve absolutely any appearance. So this option, when fully executed, combines the advantages of the first method and does not actually have any disadvantages.

Without good slopes, even the most luxurious door loses all its appeal.

The third way, how to slope the front door, involves mounting a finishing material, such as MDF, drywall or plastic, on a pre-built frame made of wooden bars or a metal profile. This option is ideal in the case when an unacceptable amount of solution is spent on the formation of slopes in another way to completely fill it. As a result, money is saved, and it is possible to make the slope the most aesthetic. Moreover, with a frame structure it is easier to achieve evenness and comply with all levels, which is not unimportant for visual perception.

This version of the slopes is great for installing lighting and switches directly in or above the doorway. So it will be possible to illuminate the hallway directly at the entrance to the apartment. In addition, with a frame construction of slopes, it will be easier to later carry out such communications as wired Internet or cable TV.

Preparatory work

For any type of slope formation preparatory stage the same. Before any work, the door leaf and the door frame should be pasted over with film and masking tape so as not to damage. First of all, all especially protruding parts are combed out, which may interfere with the installation of the frame of the future slope or will protrude above the level of plastering. Then the entire surface is swept and primed. It is better to use a deep penetration primer. Only if the wall is made of foam concrete or similar loose material, a surface primer is used.

At the preparation stage, it is also possible to lay a power cable to connect a switch that will light the lamps in the hallway. If you plan to use the option with a frame slope, then better gasket put the wires aside until the frame is already installed.

Tip: For clarity, display the outlines of the future slope on the floor. Subsequently, it will be easier to navigate by these labels.

Slope plastering

Beacon profiles are installed on the prepared and primed surface. With their help, it is easier to bring a flat surface to the applied solution. Beacons can be fixed with mortar. It is better to use a gypsum mortar, it sets quickly and it will soon be possible to proceed to the next step.

Put small piles of mortar in two or three places along the length of each end and install beacons. Using a bubble level, adjust the position of the beacons in one plane.

When the mortar under the lighthouses has hardened, you can begin to fill the slope with a cement-sand mortar. Cement is mixed with sand in a ratio of 1: 4 and thoroughly mixed with a mixer nozzle inserted into a drill at low speed. The solution should be similar in density to the curd mass. You can add some plaster.

Using a trowel and spatula, apply the solution to the slope of the doorway and align with the beacons. As soon as the solution dries, and this is not less than a day, you can start applying the starting and finishing putty. The dried finishing putty is finally compared with an abrasive mesh. After that, you can open the slope with paint.

Formation of a slope with a finishing material for mortar

In this case, materials such as drywall, MDF, plastic slopes etc., are strengthened with a cement-sand mortar or adhesive composition. The surface has already been prepared: leveled and primed.

It is best to mark the level of the future slope and provide a normal stop for the skin material. To do this, screws are screwed into the wall so that their caps form one plane. At the same time, the thickness of the sheathing material is taken into account, because it will rely on the caps of the self-tapping screws. After that, you can fill the entire space of the slope along the perimeter with a solution.

For reliability and for the sake of economy, a cement-sand mortar is used as the first layer, which forms a layer slightly smaller than the height of the supporting screws. Next, an adhesive composition is selected that is suitable for your sheathing material. The adhesive solution is applied evenly over the surface of the slope and onto the strips of material from the reverse side.

Carefully attaching sheets of material to the slope, they must be pressed down until they rest on the caps of the self-tapping screws. The correctness of the installation is checked using a level, if necessary, you can correct the position while the solution has not yet set.

If there is a gap between the sheathing sheets and the wall, it must be sealed with mortar. After that, you can attach the platbands, if any.

Mounting slopes on the frame

Even though the mortar will not be used, the entire surface of the wall under the slope should still be primed. This will prevent it from crumbling over time. Next, the parts for mounting the frame are prepared.

Can be used as frame material wooden blocks and slats, or a metal profile, which is used for the construction of plasterboard walls and ceilings. Considering the thickness of any of these materials, care should be taken to level the wall on which the frame will be mounted so that the frame elements fit snugly against the wall.

The frame elements should be fixed with plastic dowels and impact screws of the required length. Along the entire perimeter of the doorway, two rails or profiles are attached in parallel, placing them on both edges of the future slope. To strengthen the structure between the main load-bearing elements, jumpers are fixed. This is especially important at the corners between the sides of the doorway and the top.

Before sheathing the frame, you can just start laying the cable to the installation site of the switch.

The fastening of the skin is somewhat different for each type of material:

Drywall

It is enough to fix it with self-tapping screws around the perimeter of the slope. The gap between the drywall sheet and the wall is filled either with a mortar, or rather wide trims are mounted. The edges of the plasterboard slopes are reinforced with special perforated corners. The joints between the pieces of drywall are sealed with sickle construction tape. The entire surface is puttied and compared with a grater with the finest abrasive. After that, you can paint the slopes or paste over with wallpaper.

MDF

This material has, undoubtedly, the best aesthetic qualities, and besides, greater strength and wear resistance than other materials. The elements are fastened with small nails, clamps or self-tapping screws. The main thing is that each type of fastening does not interfere with the installation of the following slope elements. Corners and attachment points are closed with platbands or corners, which are glued throughout the structure with liquid nails.

MDF is the most demanded material for slopes, and the maximum number of ready-made solutions is produced from it. Therefore, the installation of such slopes is usually the simplest.

Laminate

Strips of laminate can be laid both across and along the ends of the doorway. When laying transversely, it is enough to fix the first lamella to the frame from below along the edges. Subsequent elements are installed with the lock snapping into place. Be sure to fix the last lamella. All intermediate ones can be fixed, for example, through one or even two elements. On the upper horizontal slope, all laminate strips must be fixed at the edges. The longitudinal strips of the laminate are attached at least in three places: along the edges and in the center.

Plastic slopes

Plastic slopes are being installed, as well as plastic lining, in much the same way as laminate flooring. Since this material is less durable than laminate, it must be fixed more often. The fact that near the front door the material will be subject to heavy loads and frequent impacts is taken into account. Therefore, the fastenings of the strip of plastic sheathing of the slopes are located every 10-15 cm.

Professionals managed to bring the technology of installation of windows and doors to perfection. Special attention in this work, slopes are assigned, which are an indispensable element. According to the current terminology, slopes are the surfaces of the walls around the door.

Peculiarities

After installing the door, you want to relax, but the most important stage is just ahead. After installing the product in the opening, it turns out that the door slopes look, to put it mildly, ugly, they can spoil the first impression and the joy of replacing the door. A perfectly reasonable question arises, but what can be done to make the walls look attractive.

The most popular options are to plaster and then paint or cover the space with laminate. Both options are practical, but when working with a laminate, you will have to do a crate. If there is no experience in conducting construction works, and you want to spend a small amount, then plaster remains the most attractive option.

There are several reasons why you should choose wall plastering. Among the main advantages:

  • no need to make a crate, which on the interior doors will take away part of the space in the aisle;
  • there is no need to involve specialists in the work;
  • low cost of the material;
  • it takes half the time than in any other case when making slopes.

But this method also has disadvantages that you should be aware of:

  • it is necessary to additionally cover the slopes with paint;
  • from an aesthetic point of view, not the best option.

Working with laminate requires not only experience, but also patience. Creating a crate takes more time, you will need additional tools:

  • hammer;
  • glue;
  • screwdriver

It is necessary to spend money not only on the purchase of material, but also on dowels, wooden beam, decorative corner and self-tapping screws. But, from the point of view of aesthetics, this is the most attractive design option for door slopes.

Kinds

Slopes can be classified into two large groups, not taking into account the material from which they are made, and the place of installation:

  • internal;
  • external.

Internal ones carry not only a functional load, but also an aesthetic one, so working with them is especially important.

There are quite a few options for how you can finish the wall surfaces around the new door, no matter if it is an interior or entrance door. According to the material of execution, they are:

  • wooden;
  • cork;
  • plastering;
  • drywall;
  • plastic.

Depending on what material the slope will be made of, the installation technique is also different.

materials

Finishing the slopes will help to emphasize the new metal door. Among the most requested materials:

  • dye;
  • ceramics;
  • wallpaper;
  • tree;
  • drywall;
  • a rock;
  • laminate;

PVC panels are a modern and inexpensive finishing material with aesthetic appeal and reasonable cost.

Device

In places where the front door adjoins the walls, heat escapes, so foam is used around the structure. It helps to quickly close the gaps and achieve the necessary tightness.

The panels are easily mounted on the safe door, and you will need to purchase corners and platbands if simple plastering is not expected.

Such an element makes it possible to carefully close the structure after installation:

  • cracks;
  • mounting foam;

They can be considered as additional protection against draft, outside smell, noise. If you look at it in a section, it looks a bit like a sandwich.

The first layer consists of:

  • primer;
  • plaster;
  • corners;
  • finishing.

The surface must be prepared before applying the primer. You can use a brush or roller. Sometimes after its application, if it is necessary to insulate the opening, polystyrene is laid.

Plastering is the easiest way to finish openings, but you can use drywall, which is superimposed on a pre-applied layer of plaster. Be sure to use a level or beacons, since the surface must be flat.

The use of drywall allows you to qualitatively prepare the opening for further finishing. This is a cheap and lightweight material, most often it is used for installation. interior doors. The cut sheets create a smooth surface without unnecessary loss of time, experience and patience will be required when working with plaster. A layer of plaster is best used on the front door, because there the wall surface can be exposed to moisture, and drywall does not withstand it.

Trim or corner are installed along the edge, which acts as reinforcement for further application of putty and grout. Be sure to apply a finishing primer at the end.

The second slope layer is a decorative finish, which can be different. Some decide to just paint the surface, while others use ceramic tiles and even natural stone.

Surface preparation

Before installing door slopes, it is necessary to prepare the surface. The work consists of several sequential actions:

  • locks and handles are removed from the door structure, I cover it with a film that is easily attached to a simple adhesive tape, and the floor is covered with ordinary cardboard;
  • old plaster is removed with a perforator;
  • construction debris is taken out, freeing up space;
  • the gaps that appear in sight are filled with mounting foam, before that, experts advise moistening the surface from a spray bottle with plain water, which improves the adhesion of the material to the surface door jamb;

  • the foam dries out after 8-12 hours, after which the excess is removed with a knife;
  • the surface is treated with antiseptic impregnation;
  • if provided electrical cable, then it is worth laying it at this stage;
  • you can start plastering or mounting the frame.

Do-it-yourself installation

It is not easy to make repairs yourself, you just need to study the issue more carefully. If you decide to plaster the slopes, then, in addition to a small container for the solution, you need to prepare a construction mixer. Its use guarantees the absence of lumps and the uniformity of the applied composition.

You can’t do without a level during finishing, the length of which should be at least two meters. Plastering is done with spatulas, one should be narrow, the other wide. The primer is easily applied to the surface of the joint with a flat brush.

After preparatory work the cut edges of the mounting foam must be sanded using sandpaper. The use of a primer is essential as it provides better adhesion of the plaster to the surface. Experts recommend applying the primer several times, but only after the first layer has completely dried.

Now you can start plastering the surface. The composition is applied in a thick layer starting from the upper slope of the door. A wooden lath will allow you to quickly level and remove excess plaster. A perforated metal profile pressed into the corners helps reinforce them.

The top coat must be completely dry before applying the top coat, which is necessary to hide small irregularities.

Laminate, PVC is attached to the frame, for which it is first necessary to make a 2x4 cm beam.

The beam is sawn to the size of the slope, on each part of the doorway, planks are attached perpendicularly, 4 on the sides and three on top. Nails can be used as a fixing element.

You can beat the corners only if you bend the plastic panels. From the end, their structure is hollow, there is a void along the entire length, so cuts can be easily made. It is very easy to do this with a simple clerical knife. The cut-out modules are attached to the frame by means of self-tapping screws, the bent panels are attached to the wall.

You should work in the following order:

  • mark the border of the finishing elements;
  • 5 holes are drilled in the wall, which in the future will cover the finishing panel;
  • wooden plugs are driven into the recesses, into which self-tapping screws should be screwed, thus fixing the finishing material on the wall.

Drywall as construction material allows you to quickly finish the slopes.

  • At the first stage, it is necessary to drill holes over the entire surface of the opening, the distance between which should be 20 cm. Dowels are installed in them, where screws are not completely screwed in. It is necessary to choose the dimensions of the starting rail, which will play the role of a guide. To do this, you need to measure three sides of the opening. The upper guide should be the width of the opening, since on the sides the sheets of material will rest against the slope from above. The first top rail is screwed to the wall with self-tapping screws.
  • The sheet of drywall at the next stage is cut out according to a pre-made markup. If you do not follow the technology, then the edges will turn out to be torn. Be sure to use a ruler or anything that can replace it during installation. The top layer of paper cuts through easily, then the knife is a little more difficult to sink into the plaster, but you need to make sure that its tip becomes visible from the back side. If an adhesive mixture is used on which drywall will be planted on the wall, then it is important to read the instructions from the manufacturer well in order to maintain proportions.

  • The adhesive mass is placed on the reverse side of the sheet of material, the dowels are also coated. The edges of the strip are inserted into the guide, and the drywall itself is pressed against the base. The same should be done on the sides. The excess glue that appears is removed immediately, since it leads to deformation.
  • Beacons are necessarily used, which allow you to keep the sheet in an unchanged position. If there are gaps between the sheets, you can use excess glue to fill them. Finishing processing is possible only in a day.

MDF slopes look good. Before installation, the wall surface must be treated with a lime-cement mixture. . After it dries, a primer is applied. Before cutting the material, it is worth carefully measuring the corners of the joints and cutting off the corners. If you attach elements to each other, there should be no space between them. The first is issued top part opening on which the adhesive composition is applied. The sheet is supported until it is well fixed in place. The second set the side parts. Corners can be fixed on liquid nails.

If you want to finish the slopes with paint, then, depending on the material, you need to choose the composition. Previously, the door is removed, impregnation is applied to the tree, if they are varnished, then stain. For other dyes, drying oil can be used.

You can also glue the slopes with any wallpaper, there is no specially created for this product. The drawing will not look attractive, so it is advised to take plain ones. The technology consists of several stages:

  • glue a large sheet of wallpaper next to the doorway, which should cover the entrance in size;
  • cut it in a horizontal direction so that you can completely close the slope;
  • using a rag or roller, smooth the material over the surface so that there are no bubbles under it;
  • repeat the steps on all sides of the opening.

Wet rooms are trimmed with sustainable materials, this also applies to slopes. stone or ceramic tile ideal for embedding. Before installation, the surface must be plastered and leveled. Experts do not advise picking up heavy tiles, as they will not adhere well to the wall. The order of work is as follows:

  • the material is cut in accordance with the dimensions of the slope using a glass cutter or tile cutter;
  • glue is prepared in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions;
  • the composition is applied to the surface using a spatula, which helps to evenly distribute it;

  • the area of application of glue should be equal to the area of the glued tile;
  • the reverse side of the tile is also covered with a composition;
  • the material should be pressed a little to the surface, checking the correct position with the level;
  • the second and subsequent tiles are installed with a gap of no more than 3 mm, while it must be free of glue, for this it is best to use beacons.

The composition under the tile will completely dry out only after 4 days, after which the plastic beacons can be removed and the free space filled with grout.

Door slopes in an apartment are a great opportunity to experiment with design. Be sure to take into account the purpose of the door, that is, whether it is an entrance door or an interior door, the purpose of the room, what material the box in the opening is made of.

Some types of materials are not so easy to mount; skills and experience are required, as well as the availability of tools.

  • When using drywall, tiles or wood, you will need to make sure you measure correctly before installing the slopes. The slopes in front of the front door should not have free cavities, this will increase the durability and reliability of the cladding.
  • Finishing with wood panels or plastic looks more attractive than painting surfaces. Drywall allows you to hide all the errors. Using this option, you get rid of unnecessary expenses when purchasing materials needed to level the walls. This method can rightfully be called economical and simple, since you can handle the installation yourself.

  • Plastic panels are rarely used for decoration doorways, because the material does not withstand physical impact and breaks even with a small impact. This option is never reliable and durable. But wood is a durable and reliable material that will serve for a long time. This finish is suitable for different rooms.
  • Finishing work must be carried out taking into account the size of the doorway and the materials used. Thermal insulation is necessary as an additional installation step for entrance doors, since they must not only be durable, but also not create drafts in the apartment. When working with the front door, you need to pay a lot of attention to sealing the holes. Most often, mounting foam is used for this, which, after application, expands in volume, thereby filling the entire hole, leaving no free gaps inside. After complete drying, excess foam can be easily cut off. with a simple knife, thus leveling the surface for further decorative finishing.

  • The plaster can be used directly on brickwork or already on installed panels MDF. If you have to work with it, it is worth studying in more detail the features of the material and the process of its application, since this is one of the most complex options slope finishes.
  • The advantage of perforated corners can hardly be overestimated, since they can significantly reduce the time spent on leveling the surface. The solution falls on them easily, and they themselves are completely hidden from view after applying the plaster.
  • It must be remembered that before starting work on finishing slopes, especially if it is an entrance door, it is important to close all gaps. If this is not done, then cold air begins to penetrate into the gaps, which condenses into the wall, wet spots appear on the wall, and subsequently mold, decorative trim falls off.
  • Surface preparation is important for plastering walls. The work takes a lot of time, but it is recommended to process the surface in several layers. First, a layer of primer is applied, which improves the adhesion of the plaster to the surface. To achieve a perfectly flat surface, a profile fixed with dowels must be applied.

  • For the manufacture of the solution, cement, sand, lime mortar should be used, you can buy a ready-made mixture. The technology of applying to the surface involves starting work from the slopes of the upper region. First, a thick layer of plaster is applied, after which the excess is removed. To ensure smooth slope angles, it is recommended to use a perforated profile. It is fixed on the surface of the applied plaster mixture. Only after that a finishing layer is applied, which should be thin. It helps eliminate unevenness and roughness.
  • If working with MDF panels, the base must be made of lime-cement mortar. After drying, it is applied to a surface previously treated with a primer. The panels should be divided into three parts, each of which corresponds in size to the side of the doorway. A special glue is applied to the surface, then the panel is installed.
