  • Monolithic. Visually resembles glass, characterized by a high degree of transparency. However, unlike glass, it is a more durable and lightweight material.   • Cellular. If you look at these sheets from the side, you can see that they consist of 2 or 3 layers interconnected by peculiar lags. These logs, or jumpers, are stiffeners, which provide the strength of multilayer sheets. The result is a "pie" that resembles a honeycomb. Cellular polycarbonate does not look so impressive, but it has a lower cost and differs from monolithic even in lower weight. Glazing with this material is produced in the same way as with monolithic, but at the same time honeycomb sheets are much cheaper, which affects the cost of the project. As already mentioned, it can consist of 2 or 3 layers. The difference between the products is in their strength and cost (three-layer is more reliable, but more expensive). The thickness of the honeycomb carbonate for the gazebo must be at least 8 mm. Depending on raw materials cellular polycarbonate may be of primary or secondary origin.

For the construction of a gazebo (as well as any outdoor facility), it is permissible to use only primary production material, analogues from recycled materials are not suitable.

In addition to polycarbonate, other materials are used in construction, in particular, for the manufacture of the base.

Next, you should "glaze" the finished metal structure. Sheathing with polycarbonate sheets is made using self-tapping screws with thermal washers. The material is applied to the profile, after which the screws are screwed in.

When using metal profiles, you can turn them into arcs with the help of a vice. To eliminate the deformation of the profile will allow slots in the shelves made in advance. The distance between the slots is a few centimeters.

When installing, it is important to consider that polycarbonate tends to expand and contract depending on weather conditions. In this regard, a gap of several millimeters should be left between the caps of the fasteners and the polycarbonate sheet.

Concreting, of course, should be carried out before the construction of the frame and its sheathing. Under the concrete floor, remove the top vegetation layer of the soil, level and compact the soil. Next, a layer of gravel of 10 cm is laid out, on top of it - a layer of concrete mortar of the same thickness.

If lighting of the gazebo is planned, then the cables should be laid on gravel, enclosing them in special protective plastic tubes.

Since all installation steps must be phased, when pouring a concrete floor, the work order will be as follows:

  • preparation and marking of the site for the gazebo;
  • removal of the top layer of soil, leveling and tamping of the resulting site;
  • falling asleep gravel "pillow";
  • installation of supporting pillars around the perimeter of the site under the gazebo (the number of pillars is determined by the dimensions of the object, in any case, one pillar should be installed in the corners of the structure);
  • fastening of horizontal and vertical beams to supports;
  • covering the resulting frame with polycarbonate sheets.

The ends of the gazebo should be sealed with a suitable composition. Only the lower parts of the fixed fragments should not be covered with sealant - the resulting gaps are necessary to remove moisture.

When using honeycomb carbonate after drilling, sawing, chips remain in it, which should be removed immediately after installing the sheets. Otherwise, they will fly into the gazebo for a long time, interfering with rest, and also spoil the appearance of the object.

It is imperative to drill cellular polycarbonate between the ribs, retreating from the edge of the sheet by at least 4 cm.

  1. Stick the sealing tape on the top surface of the steel structure.

  3. The protective film is folded from the edges of the panels, an aluminum profile with sealing contours is mounted on top of the joint. They are inserted independently into the grooves intended for this.
  4. Through the aluminum profile, holes are drilled with a depth of at least 36 mm, self-tapping screws are screwed in with a step of 500 mm.

With this fastening, cellular polycarbonate is not subjected to drilling. Seals create a reliable barrier against moisture penetration, compensate for thermal deformations of the polymer in the assembly.
