How to build a barn with your own hands from blocks. Do-it-yourself expanded clay concrete barn. Turnkey foam block shed, price

With the construction of the barn, the arrangement of your own site begins.

The building will provide minimum comfort conditions.

There we will store tools for the garden, other necessary equipment and materials.

You can, of course, use the help of professionals for construction activities.

But to a large extent it will be more economical to build a barn from your own hands.

Before proceeding with the construction of a barn of their foam blocks, let's pay attention to the features of the building material:

  • Thermal insulation. The degree of its importance for the barn depends on the purpose of the room itself.
  • Ease of construction. Below we consider this point in particular carefully.
  • Relatively low price

Materials and tools

For erection, we will choose a block with a size of 200 × 300 × 600 mm. It is more successful to calculate the volumes of material based on the area of \u200b\u200bthe walls. One square meter, as usual, takes about five standard modules. When working, you can not do without the following tools:
trowels, hacksaws

  • level
  • mallets
  • combs
  • shovels
  • fittings
  • construction nails and a hammer
  • buckets, containers for solution

Foam concrete block products provide the ability to construct buildings of any length and width. It is better to choose a rectangular barn format, and it is permissible to equip the room inside with partitions. To calculate the required amount of material for the construction, you only need to know the size of the blocks and draw up a plan for the barn.

The most common block size is 200 by 300 by 600 millimeters. Here, the smallest number is the thickness, which is not useful for calculations. Given the length of the wall of the room and the length of the block product (600 mm), it is possible to simply calculate how many pieces are needed per row. In the same way, we determine the required number of rows. For example, for a three-meter wall, five blocks will be needed, and 8.3 rows will go to a height of 2.5 meters, rounding this figure up, we get 9.

So, for one wall of the barn, you will need to purchase 45 foam blocks. In addition to them, you will also need wooden bars for the bottom strap. We will perform this procedure if we use a columnar foundation, they will not be needed for tape and solid foundations.

In addition, we need boards and beams for floors, logs and for roof rafters. The metal corner will serve as a fastener, along with screws and nails.

For insulation, you can use a variety of types of materials:

  • Styrofoam.
  • Mineral wool.
  • Cork plates.

In areas with low temperatures and long winter periods, additional insulation of the walls, ceiling and floors from the inside of the barn may be required. To decorate the facade, it is permissible to apply plaster, painting, corrugated board or.

We build the foundation and walls

Before you build a barn from foam blocks, you need to build a base, usually it is made of a lath type.

After making all the calculations and purchasing the right materials and tools, we start construction work. To begin with, we arrange the foundation of foam blocks. The tape design will be the best. We divide the work into the following stages:

  • We level the area for the future construction. Then we will markup depending on the selected dimensions of the building. For these purposes, we use stakes and cords.
  • Dig a trench around the perimeter of the future building. It is best to choose a depth located below the level. As usual, half a meter deep is enough, but sometimes in soils (for example, clay content) it is required to dig ditches up to one meter deep. At the same time, the width of the trenches should correspond to thirty centimeters.
  • Pour sand into the trench and tamp it down well, leveling the layer until even. Its thickness should be approximately ten centimeters. We pour more rubble onto the prepared pillow, in the same layer of ten centimeters. Further, throughout the pit, we lay out a waterproofing layer on this pillow. This is necessary so that the liquid concrete solution does not seep into the lower layers. It should be noted that the waterproofing must be positioned so that it covers the rubble and sand, as well as the soil on the sides of the pit.
  • Before undertaking the arrangement of the foundation for the barn, it is necessary to make the formwork, it will be used to pour the concrete composition. For this design, it is advisable to use metal fittings and wooden planks. The height should be above ground level - reach the basement level of the future building. For the strength of the formwork, we will use fixation by means of clamps and spacers. From above it should also be fixed with props for greater reliability. We will install a metal frame on the waterproofing or use a reinforcing mesh. The thickness of the rods should correspond to approximately one and a half centimeters.
  • It is better to fill the reinforcement with concrete composition. To do this, you need to use concrete grade M 200-250. Pour around the entire perimeter of the area in one go. It is not recommended to carry out these events in the heat or in the rain, otherwise the base will simply crack. At normal conditions weather, it takes about a month for the concrete to harden.
  • When the concrete has fully set, the surface should be prepared for further work. It must be cleaned of dust and dirt, eliminate protrusions and other defects. Having built the base of the structure, we proceed to the construction of walls. To do this, you need to cover the surface of the concrete base with a material with waterproofing characteristics. For these purposes, it is possible to use roofing material.
  • Next, prepare a solution for the walls. We will use cement (three parts) with sand (one part). Having prepared the composition, we proceed to laying the first block row. It is advised to start from the corner of the building, then continue along the entire perimeter of the room. The seam should correspond to the thickness - no more than three centimeters.

Having laid out the first row, we make a thorough check for evenness. For the special strength of the walls, it is advised to use reinforcement bars. The diameter of the rods should correspond to eight millimeters. We will lay them after every fourth block row.

Roofing and finishing works

For the arrangement of wooden floors, we use a board with a thickness of forty millimeters.
For outbuildings, the simplest sheds of blocks with shed roof. They are based on guide bars 100/150 millimeters, crossbars are mounted between them. The step between the bars is one meter. In the center of the rafters, we install racks vertically. Shed rooms are often covered with simple slate.

We start laying the sheets from the bottom, overlapping them and fixing them with screws or nails.
The barn structure does not require any intricate decoration. The most basic thing is to mount the door and windows, as well as lay the floors. If the walls are built from gas silicate blocks, then it is permissible to plaster them with ready-made mixtures. This treatment will only improve the characteristics of the blocks, thus extending the life of the building.

Floors are easy to install. We will pour sand over the entire area of the barn, then we will lay out wooden logs and lay boards or other material. To install the door, we will initially mount door frame. Subsequently, we will decide what will be stored in the new building. If this is only the most common tool for the garden, then it is permissible to install a wooden sash.

If you plan to keep the inventory here more expensive, then you can attach an iron sheet sash to a solid box with self-tapping screws.

It is possible to build a barn from blocks in almost a few days, if you approach the matter with skillful hands and use high-quality material. Observing all the installation rules, we have the opportunity to purchase a building that will serve for more than a decade.

To keep the heat in the barn and a stable internal atmosphere, you should build it from suitable material. And for this building, it is advised to resort to the use of foam concrete fragments.

Advantages and disadvantages of using

Foam concrete block products have all the necessary characteristics for the construction of low buildings and have great advantages:

  • Their use provides the room with excellent thermal insulation characteristics. Foam concrete products have the same thermal conductivity as wood. When compared with ceramic or silicate bricks, this material loses heat almost three times slower. This effect is due to the porous structure. For the most part, foam blocks consist of small closed cavities. Such air chambers are perfectly isolated from each other. The result is a slow temperature change. A structure made of this material is endowed with the characteristics of a thermos.
  • Such material has excellent frost resistance. The porosity of the product allows moisture to disappear when it freezes. That is why foam blocks are able to maintain their structure.
  • In addition, the presence of miniature cavities inside the blocks gives them excellent sound insulation.
  • Contribute to good air exchange high hygroscopic properties of the material. This plus provides the ability to remove water evaporation and prevent the occurrence of dampness and mold in the barn.
  • The foam block is not combustible and is not able to support fire. The material is able to withstand the flame for eight hours without collapsing.
  • Simplicity in work. Foam concrete fragments are much larger in size than ordinary bricks. Their dimensions: 200 x 300 x 600 millimeters. The construction of a barn from this material will be much faster and more convenient.
  • A clear plus is the mass of the block. On average, it weighs about eleven kilograms. And this means that there will be a small load on the foundation and walls.
  • At a total cost, this material comes out much cheaper for building a barn than purchasing.
  • The foam block is an environmentally friendly material, because it consists of cement, sand and a foaming agent. As such a substance, a protein base is used.
  • Porous products are pliable when sawing.

The disadvantages of foam concrete material include the following parameters:

  • Insufficient strength does not allow the construction of buildings above ten meters.
  • The same minus applies to the transportation of this building material.
  • The not very attractive exterior of the blocks involves cladding. This turns out to be an additional cost item that affects the cost of the building.
  • Without additional protection, at low temperature conditions, foam concrete fragments are destroyed.

We produce foam concrete blocks on our territory

For the manufacture of foam concrete products on their own, special equipment is required for their production. It is necessary to thoroughly study the technology of the entire operation. It should be borne in mind that not all components should be created independently. For example, you can buy or rent molding containers for foam concrete.

In addition, used forms are also suitable for home technology for creating foam concrete products. They are much cheaper than new ones. Now there are three technologies for the production of foam concrete blocks:

  • The classic technology involves a mixture of sand and, to which foam from the steam generator is added. Foam blocks are strengthened with protein hydrolysates.
  • The technology of dry mineralization involves the supply of foam with specific pores into the concrete mix by a generator.
  • The next technology is represented by the production of foam under pressure. All constituent substances of foam concrete are loaded into the mixer. Then oxygen is injected into it with the help of a special compressor.

In order to carry out the process with your own hands, it is possible to use all three technologies. Those who are really interested in the question of how to create foam concrete products on their own with the required density and strength are advised to find out that first you will have to do a lot of experiments with a whole list of parameters. Namely:

  • The amount of required components.
  • Knead duration.
  • Required time spent concrete mix in a mold container.
  • The amount of time and order of drying.

Foam block garage - on video:

Where does each summer resident begin the arrangement of his site? With the construction of a barn that provides minimal comfort conditions. It is in such an economic non-residential premises that there are tools for working on the ground, others necessary fixtures and materials. It is possible, of course, for construction works hire professionals. But it will be much more economical to build a barn with your own hands.
We suggest choosing foam blocks as the main material.
Why foam blocks? What is special about this material? What distinguishes it from the rest: brick, plastic, wood?

Advantages and disadvantages of a foam block for construction work in the country

  1. Foam concrete is lighter (11 kg) than brick, but it is not inferior in strength. The construction will not be as heavy as if it were made of expanded clay concrete blocks.
  2. Quality concrete. Frost-resistant, sound-proof material, and its heat-shielding properties are several times higher than the properties of bricks.
  3. The porous material has good thermal conductivity, unlike plastic. The microclimate in the barn will be like in a wooden building.
  4. Unlike wood, it does not rot, does not burn. Long time (up to 8 hours) can be exposed to fire without destruction.
  5. Processing cellular stone is quite simple with the help of conventional tools, so it is easier for summer residents to lay it than wood or brick.
  6. Construction will not take much time, since the size of the finished blocks is relatively large (20x30x60 cm). By the way, if you make foam blocks yourself, you can cut concrete elements from a monolith of a given size.
  7. Relatively cheap, economical material.

Nevertheless, it must be borne in mind that with all the advantages, the foam block has a number of disadvantages:

  • the strength of the blocks is limited, so they should not be used for the construction of tall structures and must be transported carefully;
  • it easily absorbs moisture;
  • after laying the foam blocks, the structure must be additionally plastered due to the unsightly appearance concrete and the need to protect it from low temperatures.

By the way, foam concrete was invented not so long ago, only 100 years ago. By adding a foaming agent to the usual cement mixture, a qualitatively new building material was obtained. It consists of small cells-air pockets, so it has good thermal conductivity.

Types and brands of foam concrete

There are natural and synthetic foam blocks (aerated concrete).

  • Natural cellular stone is the result of the mechanical addition of organic (protein) foam; concrete filled with air bubbles. Completely safe, environmentally friendly material, unlike synthetic. It is placed on a cement-sand composition.
  • Synthetic foam concrete, gas silicate. In addition to sand, it includes lime, aluminum powder and water. The cellular structure of the material is formed due to chemical reactions with gas release. Unlike foam concrete, it undergoes thermal firing in a kiln. The result is smooth finished blocks. Possesses the expressed qualitative characteristics of foam concrete blocks. It is laid on glue, which also distinguishes it from foam concrete blocks. It belongs to the 4th class in terms of the content of harmful substances.

Foam concrete grades were distributed according to the degree of density, highlighting the main 3 types:

  1. heat-insulating;
  2. structural;
  3. structural and thermal insulation.

TO preparatory stage construction should be taken very seriously - the quality of the future barn of foam blocks depends on it.

The first stage of preparation for the construction of the building

  1. First you need to think about what size hozblok you will build, what you are going to put there, except for garden tools. If you plan to store a walk-behind tractor, other mechanical and power tools, they will need a separate place.
  2. If you want to keep animals, perhaps in cages, the layout will also be special.
  3. A separate place is also necessary for fertilizers - organic, chemical. Figure out how many functional areas will be in the building and whether there will be a workshop.
  4. Solve the problem with the presence of windows. Will they be full-fledged, or just make a small glass block window. How many entrances do you plan - one or two.
  5. Shed for a summer residence, of course, simplest design. But it is still desirable to theoretically prepare for construction. Choose a project that suits you, a diagram, a drawing. Such information in in large numbers provide relevant websites on the Internet.
  6. In the same place, first read how to build a barn from foam blocks.
  7. Then choose the most comfortable spot location of the building. Usually it is placed near a residential building: it is convenient to go for inventory.
  8. Be sure, when choosing a place, it is necessary to take into account the presence of electrical underground wiring, sewer system and build as far away from them as possible.
  9. Calculate the dimensions of the block shed. We offer a variant of the most convenient utility building, with a total size of 600x300 cm, two isolated zones 200x300 and 400x300 cm. This room will house both a workshop and cages for animals.

The second stage of preparation for the construction of the building

  • This stage begins with the choice of the type of foundation. Most often, utility rooms are built from foam block, brick, stone on a tape monolithic foundation. If the soil in the country house is soft or the building will be very heavy, you can’t imagine a better tiled foundation.
  • Make a formwork for pouring the foundation.
  • Consider which roof - shed, gable or straight choose. We recommend building a gable. It is built under different angles slope slopes (at the request of the owner). Of course, a roof with a lower slope is better able to withstand gusts of wind, but then the attic, which is formed after the construction of the truss system, will turn out to be low. It can be a useful room where food, things, utensils are stored. The height of the roof and the size of the attic will depend on you, up to the arrangement of the room on the second floor.
  • Decide on roofing material. Slate roofing is a more economical option than metal roofing.
  • Calculate how many foam blocks you will need. This is easy to do, knowing the size of the structure. You also need to calculate the number of rows of future masonry. Divide the height of the barn by the height of the block to get the number of lanes. Do not forget to subtract the dimensions of the window and doorways so as not to buy extra material.
  • To build a roof, you need to prepare materials:
    • wooden beam for floor beams (100x50 mm - 20 pieces);
    • timber for rafters (section 100x50 mm - 20 units);
    • mauerlat (150x50 mm - 2 pieces);
    • unedged board for screed rafters (100x25 mm - one);
    • thermal insulation - 3 rolls;
    • metal bars 10 - 12 mm for the foundation.

First you need to make the front, rear and side overhangs. Thoroughly measure the width and length of the base of the building to determine their linear size, which must be made 0.5 meters larger than the base. In this way, you can avoid getting moisture on the surface of the barn, as the edges of the roof will hang over the walls.

barn construction

When preparatory work finished, we begin to build a barn of foam blocks with our own hands.
We perform the work sequentially according to the instructions:

  1. Preparation of the strip foundation. After leveling the surface intended for construction, we make markings. The width of the required trench, which we dig along the perimeter, should be 30 cm, the depth should be from 50 cm to a meter, depending on the degree of soil freezing in winter (below the freezing level). We fall asleep in the ditch in uniform layers, first sand, then gravel, then gravel (total height up to 25 cm). We compact each layer. Then we lay a layer of waterproofing material so that it covers the trench completely.
  2. We install the formwork (its edges should be above the level of the trench). We fix the formwork with supports. It must stand firmly during pouring.
  3. Then we lay a mesh of reinforcement or a frame of metal rods in the trench.
  4. We fill with concrete. For pouring, choose a warm sunny, but not hot day. The concrete screed will dry for more than a month. From time to time it must be sprinkled with water to avoid cracking.
  5. After the foundation has dried, clean concrete pavement from dirt, close up filling defects, cover with roofing material (or waterproofing).
  6. Before laying the blocks, we prepare a sand-cement mortar (1: 3).
  7. We start laying from the corner of the future barn along the perimeter of the foundation. It is advisable to use a corner foam block with an ideal angle. We check the construction level and plumb line for the correct construction of each row.
  8. Please note that the thickness of the seams is no more than 30 mm.
  9. In order for the walls to be strong, reinforcement bars are placed on the blocks of each 3rd row.

Do-it-yourself installation of a gable roof of a barn

A barn was laid out of foam blocks. The roof is erected after the cement adhesive has hardened in the following sequence:

  1. On the top row of the foam block wall we put waterproofing material - roofing material, folded in 2 layers. From above we fix the Mauerlat - wooden bars 50x150 mm.
  2. We expose extreme farms. We align them, strengthen them with the help of temporary stops (with a board that is nailed to the wall during the construction of the house), fasten to the Mauerlat. We stretch the twine between the gables, creating a direction for installing the following trusses.
  3. We assemble the rafters on the ground, after cutting out a gap for attaching to the Mauerlat, then we lift and mount it with metal fasteners.
  4. We lay roofing insulation on top of the rafter system - a hydro-barrier film membrane. Layers of waterproofing overlap one another by 7 cm, fastened with a stapler.
  5. The counter-rail is mounted with self-tapping screws, then the crate, after which you can put roofing material also overlap.

After completing the main work, you can begin to insulate the outer walls of the built barn, perform internal work, and equip the barn with drains.

Each suburban area needs an outbuilding. Our company understands this, therefore, we are constantly developing new interesting models of change houses and utility blocks for household needs. Garage with a utility block made of turnkey foam blocks price

Clients of our company have recently begun to actively buy garages with a utility block made of turnkey foam blocks. Price such a structure is very attractive, and the service life is more than 15 years. This model is very popular due to its durability, practicality and versatility. near the garage is often used as a workshop, shed, storage room and for other purposes. Buildings made of foam blocks are good because they are very durable and stable, they have good thermal insulation and waterproofing. They are not hot in summer and not cold in winter, a comfortable microclimate at any time of the year. The site also has options for frame, metal and wooden utility blocks with a shower, toilet and bath. Choose the model you like and order it by phone indicated on the main page.

Wood is the most popular material for building a barn. But it so happened that the foam concrete hozblok would have looked more organically on my site, and even more reliable. The dimensions of the future barn are 6 by 4 meters.

For starters, the foundation. Under the foundation, I built a formwork:

Then the concrete was poured. Now three weeks of rest - you need to let the foundation settle.

And now, the foundation is ready. You can start building a foam concrete hozblok! We start laying:

It is worth noting that, in my opinion, laying foam concrete for a barn is easier than building a frame from timber or boards. You put cement, you put a block, you trim the next one. Although on the other hand, there is more routine.

Meanwhile, the barn grew to this size:

Soon the frame was finished and I started on the roof. The roof system is rafter.

As the material of the coating, I chose tiles. The main house is finished in the same way, so the barn will look harmonious:

That's almost all. Roof laid:

Finally, it remains to install the door and the foam block shed is ready! Apart from the time spent preparing and defending the foundation, the barn was built in 4 weeks. Built one.

I did not consider the exact costs for the construction of the utility block, but about 150 thousand were spent on materials.

Gone are the days when foam concrete blocks served as a heater. Today, the strength of the material allows you to build houses, garages and baths from them. Such a barn will cost at least half as much as a brick one, and it will turn out to be folded five times faster.

The most serious disadvantage is shrinkage. Foam concrete sometimes sits up to 4 mm for every meter of wall height. The result will be hairline cracks in the plaster, at the junction of other buildings. The second is the low resistance to mechanical damage and crushing, inherent in all cellular concrete. If you want to get into the barn is easy. On the same suburban area intruders will cut through the wall in half an hour without making much noise.

Positive properties:

  • Low water absorption. The foam block absorbs about 7% of water from its volume (for comparison: gas block - up to 40%).
  • Thermal parameters. A 40 cm wall has the same thermal insulation as two meters of ceramic bricks, and is inexpensive in comparison with it.

Even in a barn with a wall thickness of 20 cm, it will be possible to arrange economical heating. It can be used for keeping pets or as a warm storage.

  1. The strength of the D500 brand is about 13 kg / cm2 - more than enough for a two-storey utility block or just a high box where you can put a minibus or a small truck.
  2. Ease of erection. Laying one block of foam concrete replaces six single bricks. An additional bonus is four times less load on the foundation from the weight of the walls.

Step by step guide

A small country shed with a shed roof is suitable for storing inventory. It does not need to be heated, which means that the base will need a shallow one. For middle lane Russia - somewhere 60-80 cm, depending on the soil.

Let us take as a construction object a 6x4 barn with a wall height of 2.5 meters, a thickness of half a block (200 mm) with a monolithic strip foundation and a cellar. We design a gable roof on a wooden rafter system, coated with corrugated asbestos-cement sheets. ventilated cold attic useful for drying hay and bath brooms. At the end, we will provide a gate so that the hozblok can be used as a garage.

1. Tool and equipment.

Another plus is the possibility of easy processing. Foam concrete is perfectly cut not only with a diamond-coated disc, but even with a hand saw, however, its blade should be made of high-quality steel. We will need:

  • concrete mixer;
  • angular ("Bulgarian");
  • shovel, trowel (trowel), mason's pick, rubber mallet;
  • tape measure, level, plumb line, lace;
  • scaffold;
  • solution container.

Since the construction is required on a turnkey basis, for work with the roof you will need:

  • electric saw;
  • ax, hammer;
  • screwdriver;
  • stairs.

Auxiliary tools: pliers, hacksaw, screwdrivers, mounting crowbar.

2. Foundation device.

We will build it ourselves, starting from the foundation pit, but it is better to hire an excavator to dig the soil under the cellar. After the soil is dug out, and part of it is taken out, we level the bottom and compact it with rubble. Next, we perform concrete preparation, put the formwork and pour the strip foundation. At the same time, it will serve as the walls of the cellar.

There is no need for a high basement for a summer cottage, it is enough that it rises 20-30 cm above the ground. We let the concrete stand for a week, then we mount the cellar ceiling. We use I-beams 25 cm high with a step of 1 m as load-bearing structures. We reinforce the gaps between them and fill them with monolithic concrete.

3. Wall laying.

On the edge of the base, we lay a strip of roofing material dry, we build walls on this layer of waterproofing. It is unrealistic to maintain millimeter accuracy during concrete foundation work. Therefore, we level the first row with a layer of cement-sand masonry mortar. What composition we will work with depends on the quality of the blocks. If the spread of their geometry is more than 2-3 mm, we continue to use the usual cement mixture, if less, we use glue.

We reinforce the masonry seams through the row with galvanized steel mesh. Over gates, windows, door blocks install jumpers. For large openings, a steel I-beam is installed. With a span of less than a meter, it is enough to lay four bars of reinforcement with a periodic section with a diameter of 16-18 mm. On the walls of the barn, we will perform the overlap. Let's make it from boards on wooden beams.

Concentrated loads crush foam concrete. To avoid this, we arrange a monolithic reinforced concrete belt 15 cm high along the entire upper edge of the wall. Let the concrete gain strength for at least a week, after which we lay the floor, set roof structures roofs. We install doors and window blocks, gates, we equip the concrete floor.

The barn for giving plaster does not require, the foam block will stand without problems without it. But it is better to finish the interior with cement-lime mortar, and outside - with siding.

Another subtlety - the building shrinks. Therefore, it is not worth plastering it earlier than in a couple of months. We will make a blind area 600 mm wide around the structure.

Construction estimate

Average price square meter when building a turnkey barn, it is in the range of 10,000-14,000 rubles, including work.

Of these amounts, most of the cost of foam blocks. The value largely depends on their size and characteristics. Let's summarize the average values in the markets of the European part of the Russian Federation in a table:

Grade by density Length Height Thickness Price for one Note
D500 600 300 100 48-54 "semi-block" for partitions
150 72-89
200 94-100 ordinary block
250 112-130
D600 600 300 100 52-65
150 84-92 ordinary block
200 111-122
250 124-144

The selection of materials and the calculation of estimates are carried out at the design stage. Costs will be conveniently calculated in a simple table. For example, let's fill in a few lines.
